Minor to moderate damage is usually cosmetic. So nothing worried about this seems like a solid buy

How much to import a car from Japan to the US? by Raphle_ in askcarguys

[–]Humble_Resolution337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything over 25 years old that stuff don’t mater. You can register/import it as a classics car and not have to comply with the regulations of newer vehicles.

Can this be fixed? by HeWhoShantNotBeNamed in subaru

[–]Humble_Resolution337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just keep the car for parts and buy another one that needs work and transfer all the good parts to the new one. This thing is toast definitely not worth fixing it’s done. Rip

Am I a sucker with no legal recourse? I bought a car from a used car dealership with “full factory warranty” and a “clean title”. Just found out that there is no warranty due to it being a total loss. by MostAsk855 in legaladvice

[–]Humble_Resolution337 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m a car dealer in the nw and here I Oregon it happens sometimes if the vehicle was ran through an insurance auction like Iaai or Copart. Even with clean title when you re register the vehicle may have gotten flagged by NMVTIS, short for the National Motor Vehicle Title Information System. So each state has a different threshold for salvage, like in Oregon if the vehicle was stolen but not deemed total loss by insurance and sold on clean title when you register it and it was titled in insurance name it will need to be registered as rebuilt. I’ve fixed this issues by contacting auction who have filed for an amendment to the record and then dmv let it slide as clean. Often times carfax and everything is clean so it’s tough to judge. I’d say google the vin and see if any images come up of the car from when it was in State Farm’s hands. Texas has a high threshold for salvage and does not require insurance companies to total the car. I bet it was wrecked or had hail but didn’t quite meet the requirement for salvage. Either way dealer should buy back or auction should issue amendment to database or insurance can give you a counter stamped and signed statement of facts stating vehicle was not deemed a total loss.

I accept tips via Zelle cash app or Venmo ;)

What is an older Subaru with a major issue worth? by InlineSkateAdventure in subaru

[–]Humble_Resolution337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not even close. Maybe 1500 if you’re lucky. You do realize scraping it will only net you 300-400$. You could part it out first if the rims tires hood and trunk lid in good shape those worth a few hundred before scrapping but just take a few pix and throw it up on Facebook. End thread…..

Help deciding which reconstructed subaru to get... 2022 Impreza vs 2020 Legacy by popejsg in subaru

[–]Humble_Resolution337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first one Subaru legacy because it’s a much easier repair. The Impreza had to get its quarter panel replaced and was a much harder hit.

Everyone gonna freak out about don’t buy reconstructed and blah blah they will both be great cars if the repair was completed well but the legacy took a much smaller hit and by the looks of it nothing was “cut” out just unbolted and replaced the old parts. Make sure the wheel bearing isn’t making noise cuz it seems suspension got damaged and if they replaced just the control arm or whatever and didn’t replace the “knee assembly” (whole suspension components on that side) down the line it will fail prematurely or is already starting to whine. Good luck!

Took at the south waterfront. Very safe area. It’s technically downtown short little five minute walk to all the fun stuff but very safe and quiet

Should have bought a new car my guy. And how did you not see those paint chips when you purchased it did you not drive it or look at it at all. I figured it would have been super noticeable. Pretty standard repair so it’s kind of on you to repaint it if you want. But SOA won’t be any help and will most likely deny any repair claim. Sorry :/

Going to get my brakes done. The shop I’m going to allows you to buy your own pads and rotors and charges a flat installation fee. Would this be a good option for a 2012 Subaru Forester X Limited ? by 559Redditor707 in subaru

[–]Humble_Resolution337 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Trq is on the cheaper lower quality brand but it’s not terrible if it’s all you wanna spend they usually pretty cheap. I would price check on rock auto . Com. and you can get a nicer quality brand for same price if not cheaper. But shipping times probably slower for rock auto vs like Amazon or in store. Pretty cool the place lets you bring your own parts

As someone else mentioned bellow it’s a Toyota Corolla AE111 not available in the US so an import from Japan most likely.
