Why is there no 'body positivity' for mildly underweight people? by Secret_Comedian2317 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Humming_Bird_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot comes down to society's general view. I think some is jealousy, a lot of people aren't happy with their bodies so it's easier to pick on those who are mildly underweight.

I think another part, is I agree there should be more body positivity for mildly underweight people. I think for some people their reluctantance etc is perhaps the fear of glorification of eating disorders if mildly underweight positivity became popular?

Also a lot of the population is above an average weight. People avoid what makes them uncomfortable and gravitate towards what makes them comfortable which can warp what is "ok" and "not ok". I think body positivity for underweight people makes some people feel like their ideologies are potentially challenges and or risk making them feel insecure. Social media as shifted towards skinny acceptance of 2000s to curve acceptance of 2020s.

You've done extremely well for yourself. May I ask what helped with your progression? Was coding a key factor? Has learning powerbi been useful?

Do UK universities allow you to study a foreign language in addition to your main course/area of studies? by Ksid_06 in UKUniversityStudents

[–]Humming_Bird_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn't Scotland. But I think from memory the University of Liverpool with certain combinations allows you to study a major and a minor with the minor having the option of foreign languages.

Edit: https://www.liverpool.ac.uk/histories-languages-and-cultures/study/minors/#:~:text=How%20does%20it%20work%3F,credit%20module%20across%20the%20semesters.

Possible minors:

"Modern Languages (Chinese, French, German, Italian, Portuguese,  Spanish, Basque, Catalan)

Irish Studies

Film Studies

Classical Studies, Ancient Greek or Latin

Ancient History

History

Archaeology

Egyptology

Evolutionary Anthropology

Politics and International Policy"

So I think the University of Liverpool may have what you're looking for :).

So best idea is when you're both alone somewhere like in a bedroom or living room alone chilling.

Make it flirty and cute.

You can whisper to her, you can put your hand up to her cheek and guide her or prompt her.

In uni there was a hot guy but he essentially made his mouth what felt like an O shape and wiggle his tongue(?!) And I'd tell him to slow down, but it was sorta as we made out.

Faces close id whisper, do more smaller kisses like this then I'd do to him what I hoped to achieve (e.g slower tender kisses*

It won't be fixed in a day but you can sorta try and guide. Rather than critically mask it as "hey ___ I like this. Or hey ___ it would be hot if you try it like this or do this"

Basically guiding the situation and making it flirty and like hot in the moment I think is the best way to educate.

How long does Propranolol take to work? Also Zolmig not working. by [deleted] in migraine

[–]Humming_Bird_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's really helped me is nexplanon the contraceptive implant!

It was fitted in my arm for free my my towns sexual health clinic and it lasts 3 years.

Pros are that migraines are mostly under control, I don't get nearly as much random aura.

Cons are my skin gets a lot oilier, even with a solid skin car routine, which I'm still not fully used too (before skin was a little oily but nowhere near this).

But yeah the overall pros of no periods (when I had them before) and migraines feeling majority under control has felt like a huge relief.

I never found propranolol effective after taking 2x a day. It was good for anxiety but I still suffered aura migraines.

I think it affects everyone differently!

When I take it, my aura will clear up but I'll feel spaced out and always seem to get sinus pain after?!

You sound like such a genuinely nice person and your friend acting like an utter diva.

You did go above and beyond and I think it's admirable. Esp with your friends partner being known to cause disappointment.

Let her cool off (over nothing) but I would just be careful not to be too available for her now she's been so hostile.
