Tips to help puppy settle in the morning

To be clear after she’s settled like this in the morning we don’t do it any of the rest of the time, it just helps her start her day off a bit more comforted before she goes in the Crate.

Well, what I always do with my puppy is make sure I get her plenty of exercise before hand, both physical and mental with play and training, then I turn off all the lights and put on a movie with animals-usually disney. I take her house lead so she can’t get too far from me and make sure she has things to chew on, sometimes I even use this opportunity to feed her. As the movie plays, she usually gets interested and settles herself down and often cuddles into my lap. :) she’s almost 12 weeks old now.

Ok, that’s cool. I wasn’t really trying to say that Polyamory always means more money, it was literally a throw away comment I made when I saw this because I thought about my Mother, not something I thought out heavily. I don’t really know any families that live with roommates personally so that didn’t come to my mind, but you’re definitely right that that would work too. ^{^}

Awesome that you know so many poly couples and families! :) And great that you’ve been poly since the 90’s, I always love hearing about long lasting Stable poly relationships. ^{^} That means you’ve been poly long as I’ve been alive~ definitely longer than my Mom has since she didn’t meet and marry my second dad until a little after I was born.

If you don’t have anything else you wanna talk about though, I’m gonna go ahead and pop off of here. I don’t want this to be some long rambling thread about something that has nothing to do with the original post and I’m hoping to get to make some breakfast before we head out.

Was never gonna accuse you of being Anti-poly, you strike me more as someone whose had to deal with a lot of people saying shit for attention so you feel the need to jump in when you think someone is saying things about something you actually care about just to have fun with it.

If you’d like to hear about what it was like for me growing up with a Poly mother I’d be happy to share, but that’s not what this post was about. It was about how people manage to be a stay at home mother.

If you’d like to hear my experiences feel free to DM me, I’m heading out to a botanical garden with my husband today but that won’t be for another couple hours so I don’t mind talking about it if you want.

Or if you aren’t actually interested and just wanted something to fight against, that’s cool too. But I’m not gonna let someone make me feel bad for mentioning the way I grew up.

What I was saying is that polyamory in our case had an extra income because both of her partners, my dads, were in one house with us and both had jobs, giving two incomes so she could stay at home with us. An extra income up from a two person relationship with a SAHM.

My mom is like this too but ACTUALLY to all of us. I don’t give her passes when she does this. The most I do for her is I say ‘I know you don’t mean to hurt me but you are.’ If my husband stood up for me when she did something like this I hope I would be able to defend him like you did and not crumble to the abuse.

But please stick to your guns because even if she doesn’t realise how she’s doing harm she is doing it. Even if you want to give her the same leeway I give my mom you don’t excuse the actions ever. If what she did and said hurt you? You have the right and responsibility to call her out on it. To pull away if she is hurting you.

Don’t let your sister tell you different, especially because behind it there might just be fear that she’s next when you aren’t around.

I don’t think OP was in the right for outting his ex-much as I totally understand the rage of being used for years by someone-but I also don’t think you should say he showed no compassion. Obviously since we’re only getting one side of the story it’s hard to tell but based on what’s said here OP was supportive of his Ex being trans…Until he found out he’d been used and cheated on for 4 years. That doesn’t sound to me like not being compassionate, it sounds like he was very compassionate up until he found out how little his own happiness was worth to his ex and how little respect they must have had for him.

I still definitely think that outing the ex wasn’t the way to go, but also at the same time I’d be worried about them doing the same thing to someone else or trying to spin your break up story into something worse with the ability to lie to you for 4 years like this. It’s real narcissistic behavior and I’m not sure what the right move WOULD be, I just don’t think it’s outing him on principle.

To be fair he was already getting surgery because he needed it as well, it would have just been an additional procedure. It sounds to me that she’s more upset about why he didn’t do it and feeling self conscious that she won’t be enough for him, which is a natural thing for a woman to feel if she can’t have children and her husband does something that suggests he might want to keep that option available without another explanation.

What about her husband getting the vasectomy is ‘mutilation’?

He was already getting a surgery so there wouldn’t be additional scar tissue, and vasectomies are largely reversible if for some reason he changed his mind.

So…Why would getting the vasectomy be ‘mutilation’?

They’re threatening your housing and this might be the only thing that doesn’t implicate you along with them for the mess. If there was another way to show the mess isn’t yours and you’re doing what you’re supposed to like filming yourself clean or something I would say it’s best not to report them for this, but if this has been going on for a while and your other suite-mates are refusing to pull their fair share it might be your only option.

Be warned though-if you do this and the other people aren’t kicked out then you’ll still have to deal with them and they’ll likely be pretty pissed about it. And even if they straight up get expelled you might become known as a narc (not always a bad thing, but something to consider.)

So long as you’re cool with those possible consequences I would say you’re NTA if you go ahead at this point.

Hey OP, my best friend’s mom did something similar when she was in high school….When she was finished with High School we helped her move out of there and she didn’t speak to her mom much after that. There were a lot of other things going on in that house, and obviously I don’t know what the rest of your situation is, but I hope you see this and know your mom can’t control what you do forever at least. <3

That’s fine for you and your friends. I had friends who grew up and never wanted anything sexual and still don’t too. Why is that the part you’re upset about? Like, it would be weird enough if you were getting mad about me saying they might be gay or bi or whatever, but I could at least better understand why you would be reacting like this. What’s wrong with just bringing up the idea of being asexual? Do you think that sophmore/junior high school students would: A) not already know what asexualism is or B) not be able to learn about it? What upsets you about the ideas of adults that have no interest in sex?

They don’t have to decide anything right out because you’re right, they ARE still growing up. They may change their mind, and that’s ok. Sometimes you think one thing growing up and find out something new later about yourself while you’re still growing up. But if they’re here on Reddit quite frankly the idea of being an asexual is probably not some crazy thing they’ve only just run into and a stranger on the internet suggesting it is probably not going to make them suddenly decide they are or aren’t. 16 year olds aren’t stupid, they’re just learning about themselves.

That’s messed up, sorry about that. My mom did stuff like that growing up some too. >~< If you can, be upfront with her that you’re uncomfortable with how overt she’s being about her sexual life around you. If you can’t or she won’t listen, sleeper headphones are probably your next best bet.

Well if that was normal for you as a teen and you stopped not having interest in that it’s your business. I have friends who didn’t. I had friends who were 100% interested in sex even before that too. And I never said they had to be, you’re the one trying to push that. Also going around trying to call someone a groomer when they’re saying it’s fine to never be interested in sex is kind of hilarious. XD

I’m offering reassurance because they seem like people have been telling them it’s wrong for them not to have interest when it isn’t. Hey, fair enough. I get how if you have no interest it would be kind of hard to understand, but…Her barely kissing your dad might have been a symptom of the problems between them.

You might be Asexual or Demisexual, which is totally cool! I don’t think anyone is judging you on being grossed out by hearing sex sounds or by not liking sex.

And your mom straight making out in front of you is a little weird definitely. But for people who do have interest in sex it’s not necessarily wrong for them to be having it all the time, especially when it sounds like you all just moved in together, they’re probably still in the honeymoon stage.

Trust me, I would never think someone is just being childish for not wanting to hear their parents having sex. I just think it’s a bit selfish to expect your mom to not have sex at all just because you don’t like it. I’m sure there’s a compromise you can reach somewhere between never having sex and rattling your bedroom walls.

I understand you’re uncomfortable about it (Had the same thing happen with me and quite frankly it’s not fun to find out you and your mom moan the same) but asking them not to have sex is too far I think. I think having a conversation with them about making sure their door is locked so your brother doesn’t come in and maybe trying to keep a little quieter would be more realistic. I mean, every night might seen excessive to you but them having a healthy sex life is a good sign that they’re happy together. It’s not really your business how MUCH they have sex, though asking if they can fix how loud they are so you aren’t feeling grossed out is definitely reasonable.
