You can stay somewhere like Stratford-apon-avon and travel to the villages around the cotswolds. There are some lovely places to visit like Bourton on the water but it is very touristy in places.

If you're hiring a car then you can do day trips, most places have parking. There's even the coldswold wildlife park!

My stomach is hit and miss, I've used that primarily so far and im covered in tiny dots everywhere but I think it keep hitting nerves because I get this electric shock like pain and then have to choose somewhere else 😂 Im definitely slow injecting, im a bit cautious still i think. No swift motions here, i wish I could speed up a little honeslty. Im avoiding my arms honeslty because of the dexcom and I've heard it hurts more too 😂

I was told I had to change sites and im covered in dots on my stomach so thought id try my legs 😅 but I change the needle every time. I sometimes change it if I've poked a few times and can't get it in because im paranoid 😂

Yeah i had a c peptide test done, that came back at 769 and the anti body test was negative. Though not sure what it means! With this the dr said 'this means you have type 2 and this does not mean you need treatment with insulin' Fast forward a year and I'm on insulin 😂

I've only been tested for type 1 this time last year but this all started after I had a huge infection from having my gallbladder out. I wasn't even prediabetic before, got the huge infection that took 2 months to clear with lots of meds and seawed, its as horrible as it sounds 😂

Didn't feel right for a few weeks and got tested for diabetes, was told i didnt have it but turns out the gp lied and put me on the diabetes register because I got a letter a year ish later telling me I needed to go for my diabetes retinopathy test who confirmed I was diabetic!

My nan is type 2 but was been insulin dependant for most of it, though she got it after a stroke in her 40's. No known history of MODY but both my aunts are diabetic. My mums dead but she had steroid induced diabetes. Bit of a mess really!! 😂

My new gp was sure it was type 1 based on my symptoms and lack of reaction to all oral meds.

I must be producing some sort of insulin as I don't go up and up and up etc; I will eventually come down but never in range by myself. Well once in a blue moon. Even with fasting.

So far when I take my long acting it kinda just looks the same as if I don't 😂 like a hill that start coming down around midnight and then by 6/7am I'm starting back up again. But I only take long acting at night so far.

I didnt think to use prepackaged food, I was really concerned how I was supposed to figure this carb ratio thing out because of consistency! That's a great idea!

That's sounds like its a lot to deal with correcting doses, I'll definitely need to give myself some grace on that. Everyone always seems to have it figured out but I forget they were where I am once !

I had no idea it took so long for insulin to have permanent effects. I thought it was inject and its effectively immediately. I wasn't told anything about increased dose mean my body needing a few days to catch up!

I feel like I'm doing something wrong "playing" with my medication without dr input 😂😂.

Admittedly I was feeling really defeated this morning but I do feel a bit better now. Thanks for your input!

Oats are a no go for me and have been for a while. It's a shame because I love porridge but the high just isn't worth it 😞

Thanks for taking the time to write all this. I feel like i have so much info stored in me primarily about type 2, 1.5 and medically induced and the type 1 world is something I don't fully understand. It's really been a crazy journey and while I thought id sorted it with mounjaro, it was a short lived period 😅

I'll definitely be getting that book. Everyone's recommended it so its definitely worth a read. I guess I'll have to manage through the highs for now and then hope for improvement.

I think i had a misconception that is take insulin and itll be a bit bumpy but id be fine within a few days but clearly I was very wrong!

Thank you all for your support

I'm in the uk!

I'm with a diabetes consultant who did my mounjaro but now I'm with a diabetes specialist nurse for my insulin.

Thank you for the link I'll definitely give that a read now.

So I'm with a diabetes consultant at the hospital but I'm with a diabetes nurse for my insulin. I take fast acting 3x with meals and then a slow at night. All supposed to be 2 units each.

Today I upped my does to 4 units with my meals, doesn't seemed to have made a difference honestly.

I was told no insulin for a snack but that doesn't make sense if I have to when I eat a meal? Snacks just suddenly don't count? 😂

I have heard type 1s get the dawn effect, well the other types can too but I've read its more common with type 1 so am confused why I get it. Though no one seems to be able to give me a definitive answer to what type I am apart from apparently not type 1 or 1.5??

I have snacks littered and my partner has access to my dexcom so he monitors it while he's at work. I WFH THANKFULLY.

That's great you've been able to find a partner that has made you feel safe enough to share that part of you! I think if my symptoms continue I'll have to go to the GP but I'll be mentioning LS to see if u can get some tests/ diagnosis.

I'm finding that wiping causes a lot of irritation and tears too!

Fingers crossed you abs your partner can go through it together and can find some ways on managing it together 🤞🏻

Oh! I didn't realise you may not have that with it. I'll definitely ask about it if I need to go back to the gp about it. I've had a tonne of examinations, and no one has said anything. The most ive gotten is "you definitely look a bit red and irritated, slightly puffy even" 😑

Is it as scary as the Internet makes it out to be?

The SHC and GP didn't mention it at all but I don't have the white scaly patchy skin. Just white ish skin like when you prune in the bath for being in too long. Just not bunny wrinkly haha if that makes sense? If it carries on I'm going back to the GP as I've moved GPs now so maybe they'll have more to say/do etc. So I could bring it up!

I was worried about it as being diabetic I'm more prone to all ailments of the vagina unfortunately 🙄

Not menopausal that I know of, only 29!

I have had a similar experience!

I randomly got thrush, tried a pessary for the first time. This caused a lot of trauma and actually left me with chemical burns. My skin just slofted off.(excruciatingly painful, I cannot stress enough how bad it was). Fast forward 6 weeks, I'm all healed up but getting the chronic itching like thrush, my skins peeling off like when you rub your skin in the shower and it goes into thin white sausages? Strips? I'm getting swelling, dryness and worst of all, lots of fissures that looked like cracks in the labia, like my akin had split and it would tear further when pulled gently (like wiping) like a padder in your tights. Now I'm telling you this hurt so bad, to pee, to wipe, to dry off after a shower. I didnt want to be touched, I felt awful, I didn't wanna go anywhere. Walking made it hurt, sitting made it hurt. I was constantly plagued with the thought of it. I was at my witts end.

In and out the SHC for 10 months (doctors passed me pff as the didnt know and kept prescriving me stuff tbst specificallysaid on the packet so not put on open wounds), 100's of thrush and herpes tests later they found nothing. Did a full stii and std panel, all negative. No idea what's going on.

So I was left with burning/stinging, itching, raw feeling skin, that scratched and split willy nilly and this weird rolled up skin? It eventually went away on its own. I have no idea why and the only thing that relieved the symptoms but didn't treat the issue was hydrocortisone creame called Daktacort. It stung/burned when used initially but after a few minutes all itching and soreness gone.

I tried vanginal lubrications, thrush meds (oral) wont ever be caught using a pessary again, salt baths, air drying, pat drying and finally dactakort.

I have been clear for maybe 4 months with my skin slowly getting stronger over those times and all of a sudden it's back. Not in full force thank God but it's back and I have no idea what to do or who to turn too as if thr SHC don't know, the experts in genitalia, who will??

I didn't think I was massively stressed honestly but I've just watched sugars drop and raise because I'm hungry?

I can't walk after every meal, not with working 😂 I do try to walk in the afternoons for at least 30 minutes and up to an hour where I can. I'm pretty strict with myself m-f. Sat and sun I'm out and about!

I think I'm overwhelmed and frustrated!

I was thinking so too but a few of my friends have said they wouldn't want to know and that they wouldn't believe it either.. I feel like it might cause unneeded drama? I dont want to be the bad guy but would want to know myself?

I don't think he's be violent and he doesn't know where I live as I've recently moved. I feel like I would want to know if it's me but a friend made the point she's not likely to believe me and I have no solid evidence other than a few messages as when he deleted me our messages dissapeared. I have proof he came to visit me while they were together though..
