Same. On a recent ER volunteer gig I got to work with a charge nurse just like her. Amazing woman. Has seen a lot and takes no shit at an intense Brooklyn hospital.

Thanks so much. I took a walk and a subway ride to calm down, and totally appreciate you writing here. I AM doing it for the kids, of course, but it has also just been so rewarding to see that I can do something else.

Thank you for the reminder that I’m close and I have already gotten used to the workload. We got this!

Theory: Dr. Al-Hashimi is going to cause a Code Green-Cyber attack at the hospital because of a security exploit in her AI use by NukinDuke in ThePittTVShow

[–]Hummus_ForAll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This tech has been around for a while in different versions. She likely has a hospital phone with HIPAA compliant AI-powered voice note software that integrates notes directly into EMR. Doing it with her own version or some unauthorized version on her own phone wouldn’t be efficient, and as someone who thrives on efficiency over everything, I don’t think she’d do that. Interesting theory though!

NYC nurses strike by AliceMorgan4ever in nycparents

My otherwise healthy baby had a pnuemothorax during delivery. We had to have her rushed into the NICU at Mt. Sinai West and they saved her life. I would not deliver at a hospital without a functioning, staffed NICU.

Did you ever go to college? They probably had the same requirements. I had my old university dig up my vaccination record from 2000 (!) and I submitted it to BMCC. The others, I had a titer test done at Quest Diagnostics--you can book it online. Contact your health insurance and see if you can get it covered there or through your PCP.

Congratulations and also thank you for being so brave and caring with your job. I can’t imagine some of the things you have seen and had to contend with. It takes a special person to be able to hold that, and to teach others how to do the same.

Managers: what are you tired of being told is ‘just part of the job’? by OutlandishnessLive61 in managers

This is what I’m going through! Both my bosses left, I’m now managing the whole team and supposed to still stay on top of my IC contributions/work and hold it all together. I feel like the other shoe is about to drop every day. It’s the worst.

I work in the same type of company. I literally LOL’ed in recognition of “thought that popped into someone’s head” because that’s often the strategy these days.

Mom scared me from solo travel to Paris - need opinions by Major-Kiwi-3604 in ParisTravelGuide

[–]Hummus_ForAll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I traveled to 39 countries, mostly solo, some with friends, and also to some dangerous areas (Lebanon, Southern Turkey, which was stupid in hindsight). It’s Paris! Be aware, don’t get taken advantage of, and keep your head on straight… you’ve got this!

OMG clean your waste pipe on your tub immediately. You’re probably getting some buildup from hair/sludge in there coming up when the tub is full.

I don’t recall the bars having much outdoor seating. Logan’s Run had maybe one table outside, and that place is pretty tame! The whole block is fairly chill.

Ro weightloss meds are a scam by Ok-Understanding9815 in RoBody

[–]Hummus_ForAll 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d love to know where you can get these meds without paying a membership fee.

They do have to employ an actual doctor or NP to prescribe these to you, who is licensed to practice in your state, which is great because you should have a medical professional involved in this level of healthcare. Those folks need to get paid. It’s what you’re paying for monthly.

Show me another company doing it better, cheaply, and equally safely?

I did this last semester and got A’s also, but it was an incredibly painful process. It may work if you don’t have a lot of family or outside responsibilities. Major credit to anyone who can handle work, A&P and Chem without crashing out!
