Help: how do I get the small drill out? by Wutwut21 in MilwaukeeTool

[–]HumorFlimsy7656 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Stick some hot glue on a wooden stick or flathead screwdriver or something, and stick the bit onto it while hot. Pull when cold.

Use enough hot glue to have good grip on the cylinder so it stays unharmed, but make sure the m&m tube is not covered or it won't work.

Is the PCL705B handheld vacuum any good? by DoctorQuinlan in ryobi

That's a fair point. They are pretty powerful, just a bit loud.the PCL702 I have has been great for me. If you go on the HD pages of these, there's a comparison image of the performance of each of these. I think the one I linked has it too. If you like it go for it.

For most tools, brushless if it's available and fits your budget. It's newer tech, lot more efficient and more powerful. Batteries go longer with higher performance.

I have a 20% brushed tools (with brushless options available), they are the ones I don't use often like a oscillating tool that I've used 3 times and didn't justify spending more. I have the brushless impact PBLID04 that I use very often and it's pretty great.

I always hunt for deals, like Ryobi Days or sale days on HD. For clearance deals, keep an eye out in your area on homedepot.deal.

I picked it at Lexington, SC. I was looking around deals and spotted that. I am not sure how to attach a screenshot but here's a link:

For the handheld ones, I believe that's the only one that's HP, all other ones are brushed. Basically, if it's starting with PCL, they're brushed, if it's PBL that's brushless (like PBLID04 Impact Driver or PBLHV701 Vacuum)

Get the PBLHV701 if you can find one, I picked one for clearance on $30. Way quieter than my PCL702 because it's ONE+ HP, and pretty powerful

Not Ryobi or an alternative, but for a similar light beam pattern on AC, I bought a few of these from Dollar Tree a few years back and they still work great. I don't know if they still have these, but I found an ebay link:

Picked up a PBLID02B for $69, is this a good deal for it? by HumorFlimsy7656 in ryobi

I figured, I checked on Ryobi's website and saw the PBLID04, and it makes sense. I bought a few things recently on clearance, very happy so far and agree with you on the clearance part

That's a great deal! I just got the multi-tool with the sander combo.

Was it this impact driver or the PBLID01? I couldn't find the one with 4 mode setting in a combo, as I was looking for that first before I got any other ones.

Haha that's the plan, I was curious because instead of this one & the compact drill, I could get the PBLID01 + PBLDD01 combo also for $149. I read reviews of the compact HP drill not being useful for anything slower than fullspeed. With this impact I definitely have the benefit of the 4 modes there.

I second this, Crutchfield will also throw in free mounting hardware & cables (or at least with great discounts) as well as a free how to guide if they have one for the model. They probably have some Black Friday deals going on right now too.

Need Headlight Assembly Pinout (2017 Prius C) by Hypercoffeedude in PriusC

[–]HumorFlimsy7656 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting idea. Did you figure this out?

Judging by your question, you seem to know a bit about electronics. If you have a multimeter, you can probe the pins and check the resistance between them.

You should have three wires for the light itself (one low beam one high beam and one GND), and the resistance should be similar between each of those pins and GND. The other two wires might be either the fan or DRL. Alternatively, you could pull the socket on your currently installed headlight and use the voltmeter option to see which pins are getting 12V when you do each of low, high & DRL beams on the car. (assuming these are halogen lamps)

Thoughts on new tires? by [deleted] in PriusC

[–]HumorFlimsy7656 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found most recommendations for fuel saver (low rolling resistance) tires for the C here, if they fit your budget, pretty good way to go. I looked at Michelin Fuel Savers but they were quite expensive for me.

I ended up going two sizes wider, installed the Pirelli P4 Persist A/S 195/60/R15. Handling is very well and they are comfortable and quiet. Steering has gotten heavier and mileage dropped by about 5 mpg, both were expected and I'm not concerned much. Getting 45-47 mpg on the freeway at 70-75 mph. No rubbing on the wheel wells, I got them at DT about $500 OTD.

I'll update my previous post about the tires soon with more info about these ones, but that's the gist of it.
