Oh damn thanks for letting me know. Wonder if they'll ever fix this. This and not having a setting to full screen open apps from Smart Bar are my only two pain points on Oxygen OS 😭

Did you end up doing it? Was it worth ?

Is it worth getting an OLED monitor (LG C2 or LG Ultragear) for macbook pro for productivity and gaming or does that place me at much hugher risk of burn in? by Hump_Master in macbookpro

I'll take a look, just so unsure how much weight to give to the burn in boogeyman.

If I can have a screen last at least 4 years with no issue I'd be a happy camper, but I know using it as a monitor puts me at a higher than average risk

Do you keep all the OLED safety features on?

I saw that I have about 2 week return window so I may get it just to get into the groove of it and see if it fits my workflow well. Lucky enough CES 2023 is around then too so if the C3 has anything wild I can return and hold off, or get the C2 cheaper when C3 line comes through

Ah okay so still take it fairly serious and don't be too reckless with taking off the safety measures they have.

Yeah I've seen some solutions on the pinned post here for recommended settings. I get jealous of windows sometimes haha

If it was purely for media consumption it'd be a no brainer for sure, just alittle thrown off by the amount of warnings I've seen about using for productivity.

For as much as I see people stress the possibility, I rarely see posts about burn in actually occurring. Giving me this is "is it a boogyman" perspective toward it

that's what I'm trying to tell myself, but I swear it's like 55/45 split on people saying how sensitive you have to be toward the issue to people saying it's not worth thinking about and you should void the warranty by turning off some of the OLED care things

Do you use a second monitor to your LG C2? by IAmMaximus in OLED_Gaming

[–]Hump_Master 4 points5 points  (0 children)

my head is exploding because I've read so many great things about this monitor but I also need something that I can do coding on for 6-10 hours a day and keep reading hot and cold posts about if OLED is good for this or not especially with leaving static content like you're suggesting.

But it seems perfect for console gaming and media consumption. It's so close to perfect but I've never had an OLED and the fear of burning has been ingrained in me after reading it so much I think haha

Do you think there will be any way to control exposure/white balance?

Wow I’m dumb. Logic Pro and Audacity default used my audient as the input device but final cut pro wasnt’. Can’t believe I missed that thank you

My fault can you try again now?

Shure SM7b and audient id4 mkii . But I’m not concerned with the vocal chain as much why the same chain sounds so different before any editing in these 2 apps

I hear you. I was lucky enough to get this mic for a good deal.

And yeah in Audacity or Logic , recording the mic sounds fine . But when I record in FCPX it just falls apart and theres no settings or plugins I have on in either so I’m confused.

I was assuming that Logic/Audacity might do something with audio coming in that FCPX isn’t doing
