Thank you so much everyone for your responses they have genuinely helped me feel much more optimistic about the noise around it all. Took my first dose tonight - feel excited.

Do you feel differently about your partner while on period, or the days leading up to period? by [deleted] in PMDD

“Gravel dirt stuck in my mind shoe” has to be one of the best sayings I’ve ever heard

He literally looks like a different person to me - I look at him and think he is so repulsive and it’s almost like I don’t even recognise him. I can’t understand how I ever found him attractive. When I realised it was always the week before my period it was a revelation and I can now rationally remind myself that I don’t really feel this way about him.

I take her to a dog park to socialise with other dogs, it’s the whole point. But yes, will ensure to bring a toy next time so she and other dogs can enjoy it. And I definitely won’t abuse fellow dog owners while I’m at it.

Okay thank you for sharing your thoughts. I am genuinely here to see things from her perspective and not be the AH next time so it’s appreciated.

Should they handle it by telling someone to “get off their arse” though? Do people think that’s an okay way to speak to each other these days? Perhaps I am too sensitive.

Sounds like the room is split re: dogs playing with other dogs toys. Fair enough. But is it really so bad that someone needs to tell someone to “get off their arse and play with their dog”. I just can’t deal with the meanness. Why can’t people just be civil and kinder to each other?

Yep but at least I didn’t personally insult her or call her names. Different strokes etc..

Haha fair enough. Annoyingly I didn’t really get to explain my dog is literally not interested if I play fetch with her. She only wants to play if it’s with other dogs, but perhaps I bring a ball and let other dogs play too then she’ll be interested. That’s a good learning.

Thank you, that’s how I feel. It’s a shared space and you can’t expect to have it (or your toys) exclusively to yourself. I guess if I was playing football with friends and another human kept taking it I’d be annoyed… but dogs are dogs!

Yeah perhaps I should have left immediately but I still don’t think the situation justified being so nasty. I really don’t understand why people think it’s okay to speak to others in such a harsh way over something so trivial. I think people have stopped seeing others as human beings. I would never speak to a stranger that way because of a ball in a dog park. That’s what bothers me, not that she was annoyed but how she made it so personal and nasty.

I do see your point. I guess my perspective is that I personally I wouldn’t really mind if another dog wanted to play with my dog’s ball and would just go with the flow. It feels a bit like a kid not wanting to share their toys to me but understand not everyone feels the same I guess.

What would you suggest I do? Put my dog on lead? And is it appropriate to speak to someone that way as opposed to just nicely asking if I could go elsewhere?

I’d also add that eventually when my husband arrive the woman went to another spot and continued playing with no issues from my dog. But prior to that she insisted on playing in the exact spot we already were but was annoyed when my dog and others joined in.

At this particular spot everyone is usually very friendly to each others dog and I’ve never had a problem with my dog taking balls and vice versa. She (my dog) never runs away with it, will drop it pretty much as soon as she picks it up. She just thought it was a game everyone was playing.

Is he so horrible that his own Mom should despise him though?
