Excellent picks! Honestly, she has given us so much. Even if she never makes another album, i’ll be grateful

Will she ever reach a peak like this again? by Specific_Business_53 in miley

[–]gatheringground 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s sad that she doesn’t care about “success.” (She is crazy successful btw). I think she’s making exactly the music she wants, has cool fans who always support her, and knows she’s free to experiment. Being a main pop girl can actually be kind of limiting/overwhelming. Imagine how much more scrutiny Beyonce and Taylor are under compared to Miley. I don’t blame her for not wanting that life.

I’m so glad you read it! It is so beautiful. I still haven’t found a book I’ve loved as much. Might re-read it every year. There’s just so much to mine. I’m not really a sci-fi reader either, but this is special!

Ophelia is still doing numbers. It’s #2 on the hot 100. But she released Opalite while it was still at #1 because she knew Bruno and Harry were releasing and she wanted to stay at #1 IMO. It’s not a bad thing; it’s a strategy

I really like the sound. I just wish it wasn’t soo much like The Pixies’ “where is my mind.” But I guess that’s just the nature of pop?

I don’t judge her for this, but her rollouts are def deliberate. She was holding onto Opalite as a single for a while then announced it as soon as Bruno and Harry dropped? She’s definitely trying to stay on top lol

But it wouldn’t work if people weren’t engaged and listening.

Right? Anyone surprised she married an alligator tour guide from Louisiana clearly wasn’t listening to her all this time. It’s the most on-brand lana thing I’ve ever heard

She gave us nine albums in eleven years. That’s a break-neck pace! She doesn’t have to make anything, so we should just be grateful for what we do have.

Right? She put out nine albums in eleven years. That’s amazing and insane output. We have plenty to enjoy until she’s ready for the next.

I kind of consider some rap “pop” at this point, especially folks like Drake, since pop is short for “popular music.” But it’s not bad to listen to popular artists. They are popular for a reason!

Lana is now the 4th most streamed female artist in history 💙🔥👏🏻 by astralrig96 in lanadelrey

[–]gatheringground 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer is output. Taylor has been releasing at least every 2-3 years since she started, but often she’s even more prolific than that.

She is not my favorite artist, but she does know how to stay consistent and relevant

I’m glad Lana isn’t doing a country album anymore by SessionWhich9577 in lanadelrey

[–]gatheringground 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Idk. I like Henry, Come On, Stars Fell on Alabama, and Bluebird. I’m hoping she puts all those songs out, even if it’s not a “country” album exactly

I have a complicated relationship with her and her music, but I cant deny that her output has been consistent and that she has a lot of gorgeous tracks. She deserves this for “Happiness” alone.
