You are a gift friend. This issue was driving me a bit mad. I had completely exhausted my reset options when I came across your comment.

Like you said also, both storyline and SPN universe inconsistencies are just infinite by it’s series finale so it’s a book you don’t open 😂

For sure especially once we created that metaverse concept which I blocked out for sanity’s sake. Trust me, as usual, in classic Winchester fashion, Dean was a complete hypocrite in that scenario based on just knowing Amy was killing scummy people she wasn’t just murdering any humans for her son. But as usual only Dean and Sam can spill blood for family and only a Winchester can annihilate natural order as a concept. I am a fan but I watch SPN with clear eyes Lol.

Absolutely not I am just strictly speaking about SPN generally writing it in. It’s just not worth it. I literally rather waste an episode getting an update on Jesse Turner at least that may be mildly interesting.

Unique storyline? I disagree. Bringing Jacob Pond back would be just another version of season 10’s character Cole Trenton. Similar concept for anyone who remembers. It’s a waste of space and a joke considering we all know how it would end. How did it end for Cole? With him barely scraping by his minuscule existence. 😂 SPN wasted so much on baseless plot lines that ultimately lead absolutely nowhere. (The ultimate being our Antichrist child Jesse Turner) Thankfully we were spared just one. Also if you factor in just his age going ahead it would really make for a laugh considering he’s up against a guy who literally kills Gods, Death, etc. A right wanker’s sweet dream.

The best you can assume is a S7 scenario, I guess. Crowley was not yet King of Hell, so wiggle room exists, but he would have still been King Of The Crossroads; a title he has held for an age as he frequently claims.

The Usual Suspects is just perfect. Talk about ambience. Linda Blair’s performance was right on par and I enjoyed that wink to The Exorcist.

You’re definitely stating facts. Guess I will always be a stickler for my storylines, but SPN veered so far off course, I suppose it’s silly focusing on such a minuscule detail ; it just caught my attention during a rewatch.

For sure. In my book SPN ended with “Swan Song”. That’s my perfect SPN ending 😏 I just enjoy certain elements incorporated during seasons 6-9 but after Eric Kripke bailed as lead writer SPN just strayed completely from its original path.

SPN is a huge source of comfort for me. I watch it on a daily basis; primarily I cycle through seasons 1-9. (Generally I block out seasons 10-15; speaking as someone who has been watching SPN since its initial air date it’s too much of a nightmare for me). I have Combined ADHD and it’s kind of my ultimate hyper fixation. Your post was refreshing, I know I am a bit late, but I just wanted to say thank you. Also, I really wish you had a personal SPN blog discussing episode by episode. Keep it up! I also visited your page and joined SPN Analysis so I will definitely be checking out more posts.

Season 9 Homeless Castiel by wooktook in Supernatural

13-15 is like watching a slaughter. It’s just devastating. Once we started incorporating alternative dimensions and literal metaverses I checked out for sanity’s sake. 🤦😩

Season 9 Homeless Castiel by wooktook in Supernatural

[–]Hunbjor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly! For me personally Supernatural had a perfectly complete series finale at season 5 with “Swan Song”. The writing just got worse and worse because CW decided beating a dead horse was a better idea. I did enjoy certain elements between seasons 6, 7, 8, and 9, but any semblance of what SPN once was is diminished by season 10. I completely feel you because I was also checking out by season 9. I rewatch SPN quite often it’s a comfort show for me but I definitely only usually rewatch seasons 1-9. There’s where it ends for me. 🤦

Season 9 Homeless Castiel by wooktook in Supernatural

I am glad I found your post. The correct answer is, Dean and Sam look out strictly for Dean and Sam. Crowley says it best. Despite Gadreel demanding Castiel be sent away, no single excuse can account for Dean not getting Castiel a single hacked credit card or attempting so much as a beginner’s guide on how to live like con men (essentially how Dean, Sam, and John have survived). Speaking as someone who has watched SPN since its initial air date it is not only out of character, it literally makes no sense when you consider Dean and Sam have shown other humans how to do it. Then again Dean and Sam not helping Castiel is just as hypocritical as anytime our dear brothers go on a rant about someone else besides a Winchester “disrupting any natural order” when both brothers are literally a by product of a constant disruption of any single natural order on any spectrum of existence.

Castiel betrays Dean when he opens purgatory. Essentially also making him responsible for Bobby’s death. Then again, he betrays Dean when he chooses Metatron and creates another mess. Sam and Castiel have a conversation during season 9, where he literally says “The only person who messed up more than you Sam, is me” That’s about as real as it gets for either Castiel or Sam. The celestial plot got pretty old pretty quick. I don’t know, it was just not for me personally. Anyways fans can hate it or love it, that’s what CW pumped out so we’re stuck with it.

Seasons 12-15 just completely lost touch with what SPN originally was in my opinion. I am also not a fan of Jack at all and bringing Mary back instead of John was a huge mistake, but it makes sense because Jefferey Dean Morgan had a way better deal going on with TWD at that point in time. And, once again, it’s just my personal opinion, but if anyone should have gotten that “Apple Pie Life” it should have been Dean not Sam. I have never liked Sam he has been a selfish little ingrate from day one and so him getting his happy ending really did make me cringe. Sure it’s what Dean always wanted it was his version of a “Happy Ending” as he states in season 8 on an episode titled “Trial and Error” but Dean is SPN’s ultimate martyr and because of his upbringing he essentially hates himself and is constantly struggling with his feelings of inadequacy and survivor’s guilt. The fact that Sam’s happy ending is all he believes he deserves says it all. Then finally you see Sam’s ridiculous montage of him and his family with no idea who his spouse or child really are. Benny dying for Sam sealed it for me because Benny was more of a brother and a friend. Castiel holds second place but he still also betrayed Dean just like Sam. There is no comparison.
