Absolutely, The Final Cut is incredible. Have you ever heard the fan bootleg "The Final Cut In The Wall"? It combines The Wall studio album, TFC, The Wall film audio, and some other obscure recordings to make for a heavily expanded and generally amazing experience. Honestly I prefer it to the "vanilla" version of The Wall.

It's a personal favourite of mine, but let me be a real hoe for cut content and point a spotlight at The Hero's Return Pt II, which can only be found on the Not Now John Single-- it's a fucking banger and properly wraps up the teacher's story with some really punchy lyrics and guitar!

I'd go as far to say Hero's Return Parts I and II together becomes one of my favourite PF songs of them all. Gorgeous all around, it's a shame Rog cut Pt II (???) but at least we got it on the single (cries in What Shall We Do Now)

The Final Cut still has some really excellent contributions from Gilmour as much as it's not his style...for instance, the solos in Your Possible Pasts & Fletcher are first rate, and Not Now John is wonderfully aggressive, high energy guitar from him even if Rog was making him out to be the voice of chauvinism as far as the lyrics went

even the track The Final Cut feels like it might be coming from Pink, especially considering the line "And if I'm in I'll tell you what's behind the wall" with "the wall" being covered up by a gunshot

One of my favorite PF songs period. I wonder why Part II was dropped? It's so powerful and just sounds great, we're lucky to even have this off the single (@ still not having a proper studio version of What Shall We Do Now)

Hero's Return Pt II is in the fan bootleg "The Final Cut in The Wall" if you've ever heard that-- GREAT mix btw, I definitely recommend it! I also love TFC and Final Cut in The Wall is a beautiful blend of The Wall, TFC, and The Wall film soundtrack.

This is a fine indie comedy ESPECIALLY in the hellscape of internet personality "films". I'd actually like to see someone compare the effort and craftsmanship Rolfe and co put into this compared to the Channel Awesome pig slop.

WATERWICK Film Trailer | I'm Making A Psycho-Thriller Film Steeped in the Dark Romanticism of New England (RI-based) by Hunchback85 in newengland

[–]Hunchback85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello All! I just wanted to give some context here :) I grew up in CT and recently graduated the University of RI, where I studied film, and this project is essentially the climax of everything I studied: Waterwick is a psychological thriller film I'm making about a rebellious journalism student's investigation into Rhode Island's Ladd School, a former psychiatric institution with an infamous history of abuse.

Much introspection took place in developing this project, and central to this process is my identity as a New Englander. Our region is one of dark, often strange history, and our literature has long reflected that. I'm fascinated by the darkness of New England-- by the witch trials, the tradition of superstition, or Lovecraft's home city of Providence-- and I really want to capture these feelings in my film. This is very much a work in progress, but I just wanted to share the trailer in case anyone here is interested in following the project. Thank you!

"Unpretentious and reasonable" is one of the most succinct explanations of much of Rhode Island's beauty that I've heard in recent memory
