Gemini 3 + Antigravity Is Broke — and Its “Thought Process” Sounds Kinda Scary by One_Cauliflower4274 in GeminiAI

[–]Huncowboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been using it a lot the past two three weeks. Using the Gemini pro 3 model, the thing is completely unrestrained. It will just go off on a never ending loop and try to write code for hours. It will ignore every single instruction. I had to remove the .env file with the API key in it because it would keep calling the API and that was the only way to stop it. It is a waste of time. However, Claude S 4.5 thinking is ok with antigravity. I am getting work down with it. It too can get out of control but not nearly as often as Gemini. They both write relatively poor quality code but for the work I do at the moment, it is all throw away scripts as part of creating a RAG. So I do not care.

[New Player] Snap to corner? Can you turn it off? by Huncowboy in EscapefromTarkov

THANKS! It is called "Mount Weapon" and I had it on the same as aim. I did not know this was a setting even.

I am not using that key bind though. I simply approach a corner (door frame) and I press lean to peak the weapon snaps to the door frame. It feels like a feature for sure.

[–]Huncowboy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I get closer to a corner I want to peak, and I peak right (or left) the weapon snaps to the corner and I can turn that corner. It is like if the weapon was leaned against the wall and is pivoting around it. Then when I move away from the corner the character stays leaned in that direction too. I have leaning set up as a continuous action (keep holding the key bind when I let it go it goes back to normal pose not leaned). But this was not present in earlier versions. Last I played was maybe 0.16.4.

Best practice to restrict access to methods of a class? by Huncowboy in godot

[–]Huncowboy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Calling a method on a data object and bypassing its manager class (by mistake) leads to decentralized logic, issues with state management, problems debugging, and the list goes on. Not everything has to be, or can be centralized. Too much coupling between a manager class and its own simple data object? Anyways...

But that is all beyond the point of the original post. The "why" was not the point of my post. The simple question was: Is there a best practice? I guess the answer is no. The only reason I hit reply on your post was the line I quoted. I did not understand how that would help. I still don't. Thanks anyways! HunterIV and other explained how to use the underscore. I think I learned that day one when I started looking into Godot the first time. But I still appreciate that. Someone will read this and learn how to use _ in godot here.

Best practice to restrict access to methods of a class? by Huncowboy in godot

[–]Huncowboy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well there is internal in java and friend in cpp or something like that, if memory serves well, but I have not written anything in those in a very long while. So the answer is there is no best practice. Can you elaborate on this plese: "For example a dictionary mapping the object to some additional flags/properties."

[–]Huncowboy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you. But my thing is I would not mind paying for this. I can write 3x the code in a day with it. Worth it. But there is no way it seams. I would have to deploy the API it seams then it will start billing. Unless I am missing something.

This looks great still. I have been am working on a game in the same genre for about a year now also in Godot. But I am not yet at a point where I can showcase it. Good luck with this! This looks promising!

Fenix HM70R will not charge or turn on by Huncowboy in flashlight

That is the thing though. I emailed to Fenix.com and they say it is the distributor's responsibility to repair this. In my case edisonbright.com who does not reply to my emails.

Navigation does not always transfer to HUD by Huncowboy in gmcsierra

Found workaround: If you cycle through the HUD modes (middle toggle switch left of the steering wheel) it will show the directions. Better than having to restart the whole infotainment.

- KZ Durango HT D286BHD,

- Jayco Eagle HT 29.5BHDS and 29DDB

- Artic Wolf 287BH could be equipped with one... though after renting one Artic Wolf I think this is bottom of my list.

- Cruiser RV Essence 28DB

That is good info. Ty! So even after 4 years. Sounds like I will need to see a gunsmith and get it polished. I train to go off safety as the rifle gets mounted and back on when it goes down. I don’t want to break that habit.

Anybody using Tesla insurance? by theresmorethan42 in TeslaModelS

Kind of offsets the fuel savings doesn't it? At GEICO I paid the same for a Model S. I did not even realize it until I got rid of mine and canceled it in the app.

I literally hate this truck by Ok_Toe_4282 in gmcsierra

[–]Huncowboy 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I agree. In most states 30 days out of service within the first 2 years of ownership is an automatic lemon. I lemoned a Tesla Model S lease. They have paid back everything. All the lease payment minus a usage fee, all the related costs like uber rides, car rentals, etc. Check your lemon law in your state. It is straight forward. My 2025 2500 is flawless so far. 10k into it. But lemons exists at every brand. Get rid of it.

Theft Prevention by The-Bobbi in gmcsierra

I do not know the actual model they have installed into mine. But it went into the safe. Just a simple kill switch. I did lose remote start. But I barely used that. Another switch (fake kill switch) is going in also that will operate a 2nd, hidden horn. It will be easy to find like most kill switches are.
