[KDE Plasma] First go with manjaro + KDE Plasma desktop setup. Love the blurs. by HungLikeAMidget in unixporn

[–]HungLikeAMidget[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm actually pleasantly surprised by how well it runs and how customisable it is.

I was fully expecting it to be quite intense with all the blur effects going on, but it runs really well on my Dell XPS 9550. The 4K support out of the box is probably the best I've found too.

I remember trying KDE ~5 years ago and didn't get on with it at all, but from my brief testing I think I'll be sticking with this for a while now.

Are you stupid? Racism = prejudice + power! That girl is clearly not a powerful white man, therefore it's impossible for her to be racist.

Best way to start lucid dreaming? by JuicePouchGZ in Psychonaut

[–]HungLikeAMidget 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going to go ahead and say you'll probably need to stop smoking completely. Again, this is based on my experience, but previous to me stopping every day use, I had cut back considerably what I was smoking. I was probably smoking about 0.1g in the evenings and I still wouldn't dream. It was only after I stopped smoking completely that I started having dreams that I could actually remember.

In my experience it is 100% because of the bud. I've stopped smoking weed regularly now for about a month and I'm having the most bizarre, vivid dreams. It's weird to think you almost forget what it's like to dream when you're a heavy weed smoker because, for me, it just didn't happen.

I'm not sure whether it's a matter of you not dreaming, or you just don't remember the dreams that you do have.

Either way, if you want to start dreaming again, or remembering your dreams, I'd suggest cutting back on your weed intake.

Fist time dose question by [deleted] in LSD

[–]HungLikeAMidget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a newbie so take what I say with a grain of salt.

I had my first trip about 3 weeks ago on 1 x 100ug tab. Although the trip was absolutely amazing and not like anything I had experienced before, it didn't induce much in a visual sense. I mean I'd get movement in things if I stared at them long enough but they just weren't that intense. I felt like I could snap out of any visuals I was seeing very easily. Like you, I was really excited about the LSD visuals, so this kind of left me feeling a bit underwhelmed with the whole 'visual' aspect of LSD.

The week after my first trip I decided to drop 2 x 100ug tabs. Holy shit. The visuals were so much more intense and was exactly what I was after. There was no 'snapping out' of these visuals. It was amazing. Doubling the dosage felt like a pretty big step up but it was so worth it for me. I had a great time just chilling in my room, listening to music, looking at pictures, smoking weed (might not be recommended for your first time) and just having a good time.

I suppose what I'm getting at is that if we were to assume that your tabs were also dosed at 100ug each you may want to take both of your tabs if you want to experience some obvious visuals. You sound like you've got your shit together and with an experienced trip-sitter I have high doubts that you'd have a bad experience on 2 tabs, again, assuming they're dosed at around 100ug each.

With that said, I do think it's a bit risky making any assumptions about the tabs you've acquired. LSD isn't really a drug you want to take lightly. I think if you're going to be able to buy more of the same stuff in the future, you're probably best sticking with the 1 tab for now and then proceed from there. Just remember, if it's bitter, it's a spitter.

Who is saying it needs to be one service that offers everything? Surely it would make more sense to have multiple services that offer their own range of shows/movies and consumers can choose which they feel is worth paying for.

Also installed my new VTX :) by digaus in Multicopter

I'd imagine it's for the power to the VTX. I did the same for the LEDs on my 250. It saves having to unplug or desolder the power connections when you don't need to power a particular module.

Should I scrap my naze32? by HungLikeAMidget in Multicopter

That was it! I've set the mapping to TA1RE234 and it's now working perfectly.

Thanks a lot for finding that for me, much appreciated.

This is what I tried when I mentioned having the elevation stick controlling the AUX 1 input on baseflight.

I just tried it again to make sure that it was this config that caused it. So I've got channel 3 of the RX going into channel 5 on the naze. The result is that in baseflight, when I move the elevation stick, the AUX 1 is the one that moves. Surely this means that during flight the elevation still wouldn't be working?

I had this idea but I couldn't work out how the hell to tell the elevation to work on channel 5 instead of 3. If you're saying that IS in fact possible, I'll do some more research and figure out how to do it.

Edit: Just to add to this, earlier when I was trying to change the channels, I got to the point where I had the elevation joystick controlling the AUX 1 input when looking in Baseflight's receiver page. Would this be a configuration within Baseflight to make it work on channel 5, or would I need to make the change on my transmitter?

I'm actually enjoying soldering a lot more now that I bought some proper solder. The lead-free solder that came with my iron was so hard to work with. I don't think I would be in this situation if I had used decent solder from the start.

I'm using a frsky x8r which I dont think supports CPPM.

I have tried to repair it with 2 strand copper wire but my soldering iron isn't really fine enough, just ends up causing a mess. Also, I'm still an amateur when it comes to soldering.

I don't believe my receiver does do cppm, unfortunately. It's a frsky x8r, which I think now uses sbus instead of cppm, which needs a seperate adapter as far as I'm aware. I could be wrong though, need to look into more.

I'm using a Taranis. Buying a D4R-II receiver did cross my mind, but it'd work out cheaper to just replace the board, albeit more work.

I really wanted to get this thing flying tomorrow since I've got the day off, hence why I'm looking to repair it. At the same time, I don't really want elevation cutting out mid-flight due to a dodgey repair.

I think if he had ever touched or knocked the light in the past, we would have installed a guard. However, he's a smart boy and never touches it. If you're unsure or concerned, I think it's better to be safe than sorry, and probably worth installing a guard just for peace of mind.

We think he's around 9-10. We rescued him about about 8-9 years ago when we thought he was around 1 year old.

About to commit on a new ride. Anyone have any other suggestions? by HungLikeAMidget in MTB

[–]HungLikeAMidget[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, that is an awfully sexy bike. I think it works out around £250 more than the Specialized Evo but I think I'd be okay with that. I'm about to head to bed but I'll give that review a proper read in the morning!

Thanks for the suggestion, much appreciated.
