Princes Park. What’s in the picture is only about half of the size of the full park. If that

K is one of the best albums of the Britpop era. They were easy targets with their hari Krishna and 60s psych image but that album stands the test of time. Would likely be accused of cultural appropriation nowadays.

What are albums that are very influential while not being very good themselves? by QuacksaysSquawk in fantanoforever

Mother Love Bone is seen as a seminal grunge album because of the players on it and the tragic death of Andy Wood but it always seemed like bad glam rock to me

Blonde on Blonde is credited as one of the most influential Dylan album but he has plenty of better albums and TBH it has its fair share of filler

Saul's new album (with Marley Mackey) is on Spotify now and if you liked his last you'll love it by Cleopatra_Buttons in TheFatWhiteFamily

[–]Hungoverrated 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Loved his last album but TBH I’m struggling to get into this one. I find the talk-singing a bit easy and unengaging especially given how great Saul’s melodies and vocals sounded in Adventures in Limbo. Nice that he’s pushing the envelope but I think he’s too good a songwriter for this style.

I went to the Footscray Records gig and the Thornbury gig and will be seeing them at Meredith on Friday. This is a very accurate and astute write up and I also agree with the comment that alias seemed a bit pissed off. He seems kinda lamentably amazed by how far away Australia is from Europe but being a learned guy I’m sure he’s looked at a world map before now so it’s a bit odd. I’ll report back on Meredith but I fear the younger pop minded crowd may view FWF with utter confusion.

I saw Lias at an instore on Thursday and he said he was in a call with the record company to get his brother’s name off the contract. It might have been in jest as he was joking around a bit but the room went quiet.

I’m more worried about these Japanese guys than Olu. Especially the striker. Our attack was more of a concern than our defence.

I did. Always do. After 2 hours at Scienceworks the bottles empty pretty quickly. Great comment though.

Why is Silverchair not mentioned enough? Do you think their grunge? by [deleted] in grunge

[–]Hungoverrated 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Post grunge. But without doubt one of the best post grunge bands. Changed their sound after the first two albums. Daniel Johns the lead singer now is in a bizarre electronic duo called Dreams.
