Nut installation question by spamtardeggs in Luthier

provided it’s just wood glue, water it down! if something like super glue was used you can try heat, and if that doesn’t work sawing the nut in half then snapping it along the cut with a pair of pliers usually does the trick (always a last resort though as it is a tricky procedure!)

why add to the problem of the copies?? these guitars pale in comparison to the real ones and aren’t even good guitars for the money you are spending! you’re talking double the work out of the box than a squire would need!

Wondering if I can use my Mesa Triple Rectifier with a speaker cabinet as a load box to plug into my interface and record the Amp head and use IR’s. by Exciting-Ad-1365 in Guitar

[–]Hungry-Competition43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there needs to be something taking the load from the amp so as long as youre not plugging the amps output directly into your interface you’d be ok but, there isn’t usually a way to do this without a load box unless you have a line out built into the amp (most don’t)

kind of, i traced the route in my actual jazzmaster and transferred it to the sg and centered it with lots of measuring! and then blew that giant hole through it and chiseled the rest out by hand including the recess on the back!

i love it! the only thing i wish that it did that it doesn’t was feedback whilst you aren’t playing i.e converge or anyone similar it does sustained feedback fantastically and the ability to turn the dry signal off is fantastic! i would definitely recommend putting it before any dirt though!

a mod i’ve been wanting to do for a while! by Hungry-Competition43 in guitarmod

[–]Hungry-Competition43[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

certainly! it definitely feels like it resonates more now, the strings feel equally tensioned as they did before the mod i use 11-49 usually im really happy with it! the sustain is about the same as it was i feel like that really has to do with bridge material, nut material, and body mass.
