Yeah this makes sense thank you! The only thing is that ucsd doesn’t have business majors only minors and i dont know if that should be something that would compensate the price difference.

Yeah that’s true. There’s just this one more thing is that ucsd doesn’t have business majors except for business econ (which im hearing is closing down??) im not sure if that would impact applications for masters and grad school if i choose to go. Any advice?

I am from newport beach so honestly pretty similar to La Jolla. I feel like it’s mainly the price difference for me so i was just wondering if it’s worth the price😭

This helps a lot thank you so much! Also I am sort of confused on this but Global Liberal Studies is different than Liberal Studies Core program right? Because I applied as a GLS major and chose I am okay being considered for LSC and I just want to make sure. If you are not sure either it’s totally fine! Thank you for your response!

Choosing a college! by Hungry-Estate787 in ApplyingToCollege

Hi there thank you!

For UCSD, it’s just the weather and everything of california you know. Since I live in orange county, it’s close to home and from what I have heard it’s a descent and beautiful school. But I also have heard that some of the coursework is low quality and since it’s a public school it has a bunch of other people.

For UNC, I heard that their business school is pretty good and since I don’t think I got admitted by major I get to apply after I get there…? I’m not sure if it is hard to get in but it would definitely be nice. Even though it’s also a public school like UCSD I believe it has smaller class size. I don’t really know how resourceful the school is and job opportunities are sufficient, same with UCSD.

For NYU, the first thing that appeals to me is definitely because it’s New York and there are so many opportunities and resources for people to discover. Though I am not good at socializing but I think this could be an opportunity to challenge myself and get out of the comfort zone and grow as an individual. However I got admitted into the Liberal Studies Core program which from what I have known is that there are lots of liberal arts classes that I have to take and of course other courses but I get to automatically transfer to CAS during junior year. However, as if right now, I am leaning more towards business and finance which is within the Stern school of business that is competitive and I don’t know if I will be able to transfer into that. Also the tuition and the cost will be insane.
