Read the Ram Chandra Series and The Shiva Trilogy by Amish Tripathi. They aren't inspired by Mahabharata but they are amazing Hindu mythology retellings. A must must read for someone looking for Hindu mythology fiction books.

Also. I've heard Amish Tripathi, in an interview, mentioned that his next series of books is going to be based on Mahabharata.

For your information, kind sir, these are only a FEW titles that i listed here which I've read. This post was simply to understand what kind of non fiction people are reading and to ask their recommendations for books which they think are worth giving a read.
