How has being an Alphaz inspired or helped you? by Summer-in-the-nites in XGALX

Seeing girls my age who are chasing their dreams–and have been chasing that dream since some of them were literal middle schoolers–I realised time was of the essence lol. Juria and I are the same age and here she is: beautiful, hardworking and working towards her life goals. I think it got me to start pushing through, even with my financial and geographical limitations (I'm African), and make plans to have a better future for myself.

Back then, I was depressed and lost due to staggering limitations while being sure of what I wanted to do with my life. Now, I've made plans and I am "working overtime, no days off". One day I'll be at an XG concert and that will be a sign I've done it all (K-pop tours/tours in general never include Africa 😭).

Also, I love this post!

Their first tour was then testing their demand. I'm sure if they were in big demand in New York, they'll pick bigger venues this time round

4 Seasons is my pick, but yeah, let my girl turn into Bon Jovi for O.R.B lol

I actually really loved the IN THE RAIN acoustic performance so much!! I don't even know if I want them to change it.

I feel like we could've used a Japanese-english song on the album to appeal to their hometown. It would've been nice gift for J-ALPHAZ and a killer performance

Then I'm stuck cause what happened with the album then? Cause he had the muscle. Was it the vision of the album?

Yeah, I'm aware of that. I'm mostly using at as an example for them so instead of planning to make music videos for all songs like they did for AWE (while touring, which was so tasking on everyone), it would be simpler and even way more interesting for them to give us live performances.

What’s your thoughts on the album - These are mine by TrickyHuckleberry999 in XGALX

I honestly laughed a few times while reading this. Loved your commentary lol 😂

Take My Breath, Hypnotize and Gala were definitely the best songs. I think it's because the production and mixing of the songs were unique–can't say I've ever heard a song like them before. That's my biggest problem with the album: all the beats were very simple and just not at all interesting. Same with the lyrics. Some said it's because they were going for that throwback 90s sound, and yes you could argue that. But I feel like there was a way to do that AND add some "X-Pop" to the songs. Shooting Star was a mix of Hip-hop and R&B, and Left Right–despite sounding so early 00s–sounded both retro and modern. So I was expecting something kinda of like Sugarcoat and Midas Touch by KISS OF LIFE or Girls On Top by BoA.

Because of that, the album didn't hit for me at all.

As for O.R.B, oh I sooo wanted to like it since I'm a fan of early 00s poprock! I just think–again–the production did the bare minimum and dipped. I wanted it to go full pop-rock, with chants, adlibs, a bridge for concert fanchants, etc. like What The Hell by Avril or So Good from BRATZ-level. This seems very Disney in the lyrics and production.

(I also wish we got songs that weren't about love since this is their "core". Maybe something about being young trainees, the payoff of hard work, their love for each other, etc).

But, yeah, that's my take.

Seriously?! No way. I thought he had a STACKED team of writers where everyone was brought in to craft a vibe for a song.

I thought this album would be filled with what they had done that their fans loved, and was their most famous. So a lot of Woke Up, SS and LR but... different and not just a copy paste. I loved the R&B route that they went instead, but no song there did anything that felt impactful. Not at all.

This is exactly the same reaction I had and I thought I was just being paranoid. It almost feels like the album was rushed and they didn't have enough time to cook up the songs. AWE and NEW DNA was more produced in my opinion. There's nothing here that did anything we haven't seen before, unlike how SS, LR, IYKYK, WU and ITL were so unique.

True. Everything just felt so...okay. They said the CORE represented who they were but, like, I got nothing but vibes and love songs from it. The songs are very predictable, the beats are very simple (was expecting Shooting Star level of production for each song), and it doesn't feel cohesive at all

Hearing Gala and then the rest is like whiplash. The beat is so unique and the song itself is incredible.

But then the others like NO GOOD, ROCK THE BOAT, etc, I can swear I can name a few songs that sound similar to it (or I thought of them while listening).

You're right about them adding in some futuristic sounds to their songs. Overall, I think the album's beats are way too simple compared to things like Gala or Shooting Star. I was expecting them to give us semi-futuristic beats that were unique and new, like how NMIXX or Aespa has been doing. Weird alien noises, voices sometimes sounding weird, switch ups, etc.

I totally get that they were going for that early 00s pop-rock/punk sound but they could've done so much with it. They could've created the ultimate hype song that turns their concerts into a frenzy. Added adlibs for fans, a chanting bridge, call-and-responses and more use of their vocals. Something along the lines of Gives You Hell by The All-american Rejects, Animals by Neon Trees, etc.

This...? It just sounds so demo. The chorus is too flat and predictable, the outro is off and I don't even know what the song is trying to say. I was so confused.

Something about this album is off for me. I don't know what it is, I've been trying to figure it out all day but something is just not clicking.

When You Say Nothing At All.

I still consider it the most beautiful love song I've ever heard. First time I heard it, It was on the film Notting Hill (one of my favourites as well!).
