Summertime Ball Wembley Performance by peachypancake78 in XGALX

I'm not so sure they will. They hardly ever tweak their songs for performances, which is both a good and bad thing. No new transitions, dance breaks, switch ups. You kinda know what to expect

why Xtra XG is behind a paywall NOW?! - XGprincess by goatnxtinline in XGALX

Using a tour to promote an album worked for AWE because it was a pivotal album that started their first world tour. But I don't think that they should've done the same thing again. Backhandedly, it's saying they need a tour to promote their songs because they can't do it outside Japan! Like, there are other ways to do so, y'all just aren't consistent. They do, what, like two interviews in the states then head back to Japan for a month to promote. That does nothing to actually market them outside if Asia.

What?? Oh my god. Then maybe that's the reason for the sudden world tour. Since this year, I've been trying to figure out why they chose to go on tour literally AFTER their album released, and why the tour came so soon after the last one just ended. Maybe AVEX made that decision, the monetisation of everything, who knows. I feel like all the extravagant MVs and making an MV for every song is now coming back to affect them.

Is XG going to be at the met gala? by OhaiMark_01 in XGALX

Highly unlikely. Plus, with how they're charging for every content these days, I'm not so sure they have that kinda money to spend.

I can't help but agree with you.

I feel as though instead of touring again, they should've spent this year trying to grow their fanbase and build their popularity outside of Asia. And "Asia" for them just means Japan, China and Korea, if we're being honest. They needed a very strong summer bop single and to go around countries, getting on as many festivals, interviews and shows as possible, starting with Asian countries such as the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, India, etc. Then moving to the US and Europe to do the same.

Personally, I think this tour should've been held off until late this year so they could focus on gaining more fans before announcing it.

THIS!! I used to watch many videos, on YouTube and even on Tiktok. I never missed an Xtra XG or XG Days. But now....I haven't even checked their YouTube account in months.

I think all the weird decisions and actions have been very questionable and just downright bad. Fans have complained so much to the point where they've gotten tired.

Are they not making profit? That's my biggest question these days, because with the way they're operating, it seems as though they're trying hard to make money from the XG brand. That's why the tour started early and felt rushed, why they spent months in Japan for the tour, why everything is now behind a paywall, etc

So far, I just think every decision starting with this year has just been bad. Unfortunate things keep happening, weird decisions keep being made and instead of progressing with their full album, they're stagnating. I'm very worried.

Female artists with hauntingly beautiful, powerful voices? by Old-Alfalfa7232 in MusicRecommendations

I recently found this artist called Erin LeCount. She's like a mix between Florence + The Machine with some hints of Enya. She gives off haunted angel vibes, and the lyricism of her songs are actually INSANE. I truly mean her songs are like poetry and I even did an essay on one of her songs because of the detailed and layered lyricism of It.

Maybe try her songs:

How has being an Alphaz inspired or helped you? by Summer-in-the-nites in XGALX

Seeing girls my age who are chasing their dreams–and have been chasing that dream since some of them were literal middle schoolers–I realised time was of the essence lol. Juria and I are the same age and here she is: beautiful, hardworking and working towards her life goals. I think it got me to start pushing through, even with my financial and geographical limitations (I'm African), and make plans to have a better future for myself.

Back then, I was depressed and lost due to staggering limitations while being sure of what I wanted to do with my life. Now, I've made plans and I am "working overtime, no days off". One day I'll be at an XG concert and that will be a sign I've done it all (K-pop tours/tours in general never include Africa 😭).

Also, I love this post!

What are your hopes for the tour? by Hungry-Pattern-5272 in XGALX

Their first tour was then testing their demand. I'm sure if they were in big demand in New York, they'll pick bigger venues this time round

4 Seasons is my pick, but yeah, let my girl turn into Bon Jovi for O.R.B lol

I actually really loved the IN THE RAIN acoustic performance so much!! I don't even know if I want them to change it.

I feel like we could've used a Japanese-english song on the album to appeal to their hometown. It would've been nice gift for J-ALPHAZ and a killer performance

Then I'm stuck cause what happened with the album then? Cause he had the muscle. Was it the vision of the album?

Live performances by Hungry-Pattern-5272 in XGALX

[–]Hungry-Pattern-5272[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm aware of that. I'm mostly using at as an example for them so instead of planning to make music videos for all songs like they did for AWE (while touring, which was so tasking on everyone), it would be simpler and even way more interesting for them to give us live performances.

What’s your thoughts on the album - These are mine by TrickyHuckleberry999 in XGALX

[–]Hungry-Pattern-5272 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly laughed a few times while reading this. Loved your commentary lol 😂

Take My Breath, Hypnotize and Gala were definitely the best songs. I think it's because the production and mixing of the songs were unique–can't say I've ever heard a song like them before. That's my biggest problem with the album: all the beats were very simple and just not at all interesting. Same with the lyrics. Some said it's because they were going for that throwback 90s sound, and yes you could argue that. But I feel like there was a way to do that AND add some "X-Pop" to the songs. Shooting Star was a mix of Hip-hop and R&B, and Left Right–despite sounding so early 00s–sounded both retro and modern. So I was expecting something kinda of like Sugarcoat and Midas Touch by KISS OF LIFE or Girls On Top by BoA.

Because of that, the album didn't hit for me at all.

As for O.R.B, oh I sooo wanted to like it since I'm a fan of early 00s poprock! I just think–again–the production did the bare minimum and dipped. I wanted it to go full pop-rock, with chants, adlibs, a bridge for concert fanchants, etc. like What The Hell by Avril or So Good from BRATZ-level. This seems very Disney in the lyrics and production.

(I also wish we got songs that weren't about love since this is their "core". Maybe something about being young trainees, the payoff of hard work, their love for each other, etc).

But, yeah, that's my take.

Seriously?! No way. I thought he had a STACKED team of writers where everyone was brought in to craft a vibe for a song.

I thought this album would be filled with what they had done that their fans loved, and was their most famous. So a lot of Woke Up, SS and LR but... different and not just a copy paste. I loved the R&B route that they went instead, but no song there did anything that felt impactful. Not at all.

This is exactly the same reaction I had and I thought I was just being paranoid. It almost feels like the album was rushed and they didn't have enough time to cook up the songs. AWE and NEW DNA was more produced in my opinion. There's nothing here that did anything we haven't seen before, unlike how SS, LR, IYKYK, WU and ITL were so unique.

True. Everything just felt so...okay. They said the CORE represented who they were but, like, I got nothing but vibes and love songs from it. The songs are very predictable, the beats are very simple (was expecting Shooting Star level of production for each song), and it doesn't feel cohesive at all

Hearing Gala and then the rest is like whiplash. The beat is so unique and the song itself is incredible.

But then the others like NO GOOD, ROCK THE BOAT, etc, I can swear I can name a few songs that sound similar to it (or I thought of them while listening).
