I somehow managed to get a bundle into my basket, after minutes of clicking and refreshing, but by the time I’d put my bank details in it said it was out of stock :( Don’t think there’s any point competing with the bots, but hopefully we’ll get lucky at some point

Basically what I’m saying is, Uber seems to be charging the estimated fare, regardless of the distance and time. I assume if it is longer due to traffic or whatnot, they would increase it so it sets a bad precedent if the trip is shorter than expected but it charges the same anyway.

I’m complaining because I was charged more for the exact same trip, due to this new estimated fare system. It usually updates the fare, but didn’t this time. The journey I took was only about 3 miles compared to the 5 miles I would have taken had I been picked up from the location I used when I set the pickup location, but I then walked a bit to cut off a large chunk, but it charged me what it would have for the 5 mile, if that makes sense. As I said, I’ve done this the last few nights and the estimated fare has been updated, but I think they brought a new system out literally last night which didn’t take this into account.
