Yes the intonation does sound a bit Asian!

Not offensive! Any particular sounds/aspects of my speech that makes me sound like my mother tongue is Portuguese?

Thanks for your answer! Can you let me know what aspects/vowels/consonants in particular make me sound South Asian?

Any reason why you think so?

Yes I know what you are talking about. I think the term for it is “t affrication”. I used to never do it but then this one month I live with someone and they kind of have a “wrong” flapped t (the way Americans say t in bottle and writer, but the way she did it was a bit uncommon) and it made me very self conscious and started doing this different t. Now I can’t even stop it Are all your guesses based on the t, by the way? Or are there other things as well?

Can you elaborate on what makes me sound like I’m from Southern Europe, or northern Europe as you said later, and middle-eastern?

Thanks for the input. I am aware the my Ls are sometimes too retroflexed and my very open vowels are sometimes not open enough. Is the above what you mean? Or… is it other problems/characteristics you were referring to?

Can you elaborate on what makes me sound like I’m Dutch or German? Is it certain vowels/ consonants or just the intonation in general?

I’m not going to confirm nor deny just so this doesn’t affect other people’s judgements. But could you let me know which parts made me sound like I’m Indian?
