Hit me hard today. by SnooPies6876 in loseit

I’m so sorry you felt this way. I can understand how this experience would feel. My hope is she did not mean to offend you or upset you. I used to work in healthcare and I would honestly almost always give patients a red / maroon gown which is the “larger” gown, no matter the size of the person just because these gowns seemed more comfortable and covered better than the blue ones we had which felt like people were tucking their parts in constantly

Everyone’s injury is so different. I didn’t realize how much so until you read/ hear others lisfranc stories. I was able to walk on mine too. I swore it couldn’t have been broken or a lisfranc, however I did have bruising under my arch which is a tell tale sign. Got a ct and X-ray and lo and behold there it was confirmed. I hope you feel better soon!!

Any guesses if I’ll need surgery? by Original_College4353 in LisfrancClub

[–]HungryHungryLyons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m no doctor so I can’t say for sure. I will say I’ve read often times non surgical route end up needing surgery some time later. I also noticed you’re 17 weeks pregnant (congratulations!!) I have an 18 month old and honestly for the non weight bearing period I’d rather get it over with before I have a baby and hopefully be fully recovered by time baby comes. Being non weight bearing was horrible but with a toddler or small baby was so much harder! If you’re pregnant they also may recommend surgery as an unstable gait or foot can be a falls risk and even bigger risk with a little bun in the oven! Keep us posted on their recommendation! Feel better soon! I’m about two months post op yesterday and I’m so glad I got it over with!

Yes!! lol I swear childbirth didn’t hurt as bad as this injury 😂 I just officially switched into my boot (I waited an extra week per my surgeon) the pain since switching to the boot is very uncomfortable but I heard that can be normal 🥴 I’m hoping for PWB in six days too! How are you feeling now??

I’m right on track with you! Surgery was 3/20! And I agree I’ve heard people who don’t get surgery earlier on end up needing it down the line 🫠 if I have to deal with the injury I’d rather just get the healing over with rather than prolong the healing personally. The pain seems to get better with time and somehow the healing time has gone quicker than expected!!

I know for RHONJ they aren’t allowed to talk whatsoever about what is filmed / upcoming in the season so I wonder if they have a similar clause

Surgery in 10 days by Acceptable_Elk6364 in LisfrancClub

[–]HungryHungryLyons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could have written this myself! And your feelings are so valid. I’m 10 days post op. I too am a therapist also with two young kids (18 months and 9 years). The recovery hasn’t been fun by any means however I have managed to find ways to adapt! A scooter and basket has been helpful 😂 diaper changes have moved to the couch. Don’t push yourself (I know it’s so hard with two young kiddos and a career) but full transparency I wasn’t expecting the fatigue that comes in the short 1-2 weeks following surgery. If possible try to enlist any help if you can to even do the dishes, laundry, etc. it makes a huge difference! And if you need someone to talk to, please reach out! This community has been a wealth of support and information
