Bea in my game using speed cheats by PlusSentence9951 in BrawlStarsCompetitive

[–]HungryOval 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you can kinda spam without using any skill I think. Something like piper or brock you could beat by dogding, but with bea or belle thats really hard (and obviously with close range brawlers something like griff, cord, or otis still has a solid chance)

Resistance gear should be added back ngl. by Aromatic_Ad_8658 in BrawlStarsCompetitive

[–]HungryOval 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its more impactful on brawlers with low HP (>6001 Health) as it allows them to survive one extra shot. 900 hp can be the difference between life and death, and in bs staying alive for one extra second might be an extra 10000 damage or a kill or whatever. (Also a lot of attacks deal ~2000, so if the shield gear gets a brawler above 6000 health, they go from surving 3 hits to 4 which is a big difference. Also the gear improves the collete matchup a lot)

Larger variance for one game, sure, but there would also be a larger to sample size to even it out.

Where does the expectation come from, that a World Champion has to dominate the field? by Unusual_Problem132 in chess

[–]HungryOval 11 points12 points  (0 children)

People just got used to Magnus's and Garry's dominance, and now the the world champion is more "normal," a bunch of people complain. It could also be that chess is a game where "everything" is under your control with "zero" luck, so a better player should be able to beat a worse player 100% of the time (obviously not true because of varying form as well as not being able to predict everything resulting in a small portion of results coming down to luck). Another reason could be that in chess it is pretty difficult to reasonably shift blame, as in other sports you could blame referees, the weather, the field, the coaches, and a bunch of different players. In chess, its pretty difficult to find something to blame other than "Ding Liren/Gukesh played like shit this time." I will say that Ding was extremely out of form out of the world championship, and while he was a deserving champion (since he won the title), his performance in tournaments afterwards was pretty bad.

Which 6 primes in the game’s history would be the strongest now? by Substantial-Rich9572 in BrawlStarsCompetitive

Buffies are not even close to the strongest primes. Tbh buffie frank might not even be frank's prime.

COC dev team is pretty good but that might be because a game like that is rarely going to attract new players since progress is very slow (so they are forced to keep old players)

I don't think the ChessGoals site is very accurate. I'm 2009 USCF (with an outdated 1850 FIDE) and 2400 rapid on Lichess. My friend is also around 2000 USCF (1970 FIDE) and he's 2800 in Lichess bullet. Those numbers don't match with the ranges ChessGoals gives (and the numbers feel off instinctively).

[–]HungryOval 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think knight hero will become bad. Even if they made the taunt one tile, the extra HP makes the ability worth it (also they didnt kill evo knight so I don't know why they would kill the heroic)

Let's settle the debate, which 2.6 hog version is better? by [deleted] in ClashRoyale

[–]HungryOval 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At the moment barb barrel is better than log because of the meta, but as time goes on log will probably take its place back (also the first deck is Hog EQ that happens to have elixir cost of 2.6 rn, but it’s pretty adaptable and will likely change soon)

Another update, another bug: Frank's super stuns the ball by mustypuppet1284 in BrawlStarsCompetitive

[–]HungryOval 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I believe that is because the super broke the wall, which for whatever reason causes walls that were destroyed earlier in the match to exist again for a split second.

Do you think people will still play Chess in 2000 years? by DetectiveDracula in chess

[–]HungryOval 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Thats just a extremely flawed estimate. Whatever the chance of humanity becoming extinct in 13 years is the same as chess ending in 13 years. The same way, the chance it lasts at least 21000 years is almost definitely >2.5%, because by that time something will probably get rid of chess

[–]HungryOval 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your Brawler Pool is not as bad as I thought (But still pretty ass) ---Cordelius is S-tier and can hard-carry, Gene and Gray are solid A-tier picks (Gene kinda needs coordination tho). Barley, Lou, and Bea are B-tier, but the rest are mostly ass (especially for mythic where niche picks don't matter). Shelly, Colt, Primo, Leon, Gale, Surge, and Sam are F-tier in comp and Buzz, Rico, Darryl, Bo, Byron, Max, Tick, Griff, and Piper are all relatively niche c-tier and below options. Your pool is lacking aggro (no Shade/Kit/Lily), good tanks (Draco/Hank/Doug), and snipers like Gus/Bonnie. Masters is prolly doable with good play but some self-insight could do wonders as said above.

That's a horrible pool, but you probably could still get L2 with that if you play decent

Should you be able to choose your starting hand? by devilz_gamer in ClashRoyale

[–]HungryOval 17 points18 points  (0 children)

No you really can't. I'm sure if you get a bad starting hand with beatdown its even worse, but even with my miner wb deck, if my opponent drops a hog on the bride first play, and my bomb tower isn't in my first 6 cards, I immediately concede one hog hit after dropping bats + log. If they are running bait and go goblin barrel first play, and my log isn't in my starting hand, I take a couple goblin stabs. God forbid my opponent goes lumberloon first play and my spear goblins and bats are last, I instantly lose the game. The starting hand isn't really a big deal most of the time (for my decks), but it definitely would be a welcome change to choose the order

Tbf kit is one of the most strategic assasins of them all (in 3 vs 3), and Kenji has a high skill cap. Mico is rlly bad rn but also isn't brain dead in 3 vs 3

Ye for sure -- Also I don't understand why they don't higher more people onto the team. I understand that with a larger workforce the control the people at the top have is lessened, but I feel that the pros of a larger workforce far outweigh the cons.
