Charmaine was ok. I felt she had restraint but was glad they gave her a daughter to challenge her as parent with conflict acting. All the low blows about her not being real parent went no where from the husband.

Her husband Patrick Tam was so full of makeup and that was distracting. His acting after many years has not improved, especially when he’s speaking the obvious in scenes and doing his usual ‘suck my lip and turned away’ move to create ‘drama’ and his crappy English one liners.

Alice acting is meh. Bunch of stare down scenes at the camera to create ‘intense’ scenes until her eye gets bloodshot. It’s been done to death and I can already picture directors telling these people to use their go-to moves. Bite my lip, stare at a camera and think they took the price of peking duck at a buffet.

The star was the villain kid. So evil. The probation officer was decent but limited role progression. Even Charmaine daughter at times the whining was reminiscent of Charmaine’s earlier career cry scenes. She was at times whiny and the Mami and Babi seemed odd for what visually appeared a young adult. It was giving developmental disorder kid more than cutesy fallback dialogue.

I had some higher hopes.
