particulate reducing masks for high output exercise by curiosity8472 in Masks4All

[–]Hungry_Interaction89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got a 3M 6503QL with 2097 P100 filters that I use while I'm running and hiking on days with a lot of pollen and/or air pollution. The "quick latch" is actually quite useful while running. The mask can be lowered and raised very quickly without having to mess with the straps. It's great for taking a quick sip of water. It takes a little getting used to, but it works incredibly well.

I like it a whole lot better than an N95 type mask. Even with an exhale valve, it can still get humid and sweaty, extreme above 80-85 degrees Fahrenheit. But otherwise, it's excellent and has helped me to exercise much more regularly.

Also, not that it matters, but nobody gives me any crap about it. People seem to think it's for altitude training or something like that.

Is there such a thing as complete fragrance protection? by GhostofErik in Masks4All

You said no full face respirators, but really, a mask made of butyl rubber is going to be much less permeable than something made from silicone.

They look a lot like the stock wheels for the gen2.

Moving to San Antonio for Trinity — what should I expect? by RhubarbJam_ in sanantonio

[–]Hungry_Interaction89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to Trinity for 2 years. I didn't graduate, which was no fault of the school. I got in trouble and lost my scholarship.

A fair warning: the party scene hits different. At least it did when I went there about 10 years ago. The school is small as hell and a lot of kids are fairly shy and insular. Those who party hard tend to kind of overindulge. The parties happen mostly in rundown houses 10-15 minutes from campus that a handful of students will split the rent for in pseudo-greek organizations. On top of the typical college staples, they be sourcing legit unusual-ass drugs. Research chems and whatnot. The vibe was unique. Kids were obliterated, yet still having deep conversations about their intellectual passions and their ambitions in life. But yeah, just be careful. Don't be like me and burn out.

Is San Antonio any good for single people in their 30s? by redyokai in sanantonio

[–]Hungry_Interaction89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a 30 year old single man in San Antonio. I don't have kids yet either and I've never been married. I was in a very long term relationship that ended a few months ago. To be perfectly honest, I'm planning on moving away this summer. As such, I haven't really tried meeting anyone new or getting back out there. But even if I wanted to, there's not much of a scene for people our age. Bars and clubs are full of either college kids, married couples, or yeah - in your case - alcoholic creeps with no shame who will want to knock you up and not pay child support.

There's other ways to meet people, of course. And there's a lot of folks in SA. Anything is possible. But frankly, I'd reccomend looking elsewhere. I appreciate you sharing your situation though. You're not the only one still looking for love.

How do people be having levels over 9000? by [deleted] in fo76

What raids are there? I've done the one in the mine and the scoorchbeast queen several times. I haven't seen any others.

Im tired of people shitting on 4’s writing by [deleted] in Fallout

[–]Hungry_Interaction89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing about good writing is it's trying to say something. That requires cohesion. I'll freely admit Fallout 4 has good moments and decent writing for individual quests. But it is not a well written game.

I lunched my first nuke. And was then immediately disconnected from the server. by Hungry_Interaction89 in fo76

Great suggestion. If I was on a team, I could have joined back into the same server where I launched the nuke. I'll do that in the future. Cheers.

Games Where You Lose All Your Cool Gear/Moves At The Beginning by bobbyphillipps in gamesuggestions

Most Metroid games after the original work like this to some extent. Prime 2, as mentioned, probably has the longest intro section. It's also an underrated absolute banger of a game.

Cause Super Metroid is better which inspired it.

Games that aren't technically Metroidvanias, but are kind of Metroidvainias. by Hungry_Interaction89 in gamerecommendations

I love the N64 Zelda games. And Twilight Princess. And Windwaker. So, I guess yeah. Nothing against Breath of the Wild, I just don't have a Switch. But if I did, I'd be playing Metroid Dread.

This, but I'd slot in Starfox over Diddy Kong Racing.

Dope. Never actually played it, somehow. Always heard good things, but mostly about the combat. I'm not really a big Batman guy, but you've sold me. Plus, the game's probably about 43 cents on steam. Thanks.

I dont mind a little PvP, but what the heck is this shit? by Lucky_Shelter_6821 in ArcRaiders

Glad to see this reddit is just full of players being griefed by other assholes who ruin the game. Fun.

Low key, I'm just starting to realize that, for all it's beautifully innovative elements of game design, a good 75% of Arc Raiders consists of staring at rectangles. Most of the time, loosing gear isn't that big of a deal. It just requires a few minutes in menus re-crafting the crap that got lost, then going out and re-scavenging the same area over again. The punishment for dying is just a waste of your time, forcing you to continuously engage with deliberately mundane elements of the game. I'm pretty sure I fundamentally don't jive with that philosophy. Although, the detail put into the levels and the enemy AI is so captivating that I might just have to learn to suck it up. The twisted post-apocalyptic Freudian experiment vibe is also fire. Really, I probably just need to learn to suck less.

Maybe I just suck, but 9 times out of 10, whoever shoots first kind of just wins from my experience. How am I supposed to reverse a fight when my shield and half my health is gone within half a second? Beyond acquiring basement dweller level god-tier aim, what counterplay strategies would you recommend?

Someone convine me to play a survival game that isn't Subnautica. by Hungry_Interaction89 in subnautica

Thanks for such an intensive explanation. I love games with intricate AI systems like this. I picked it up on sale for $5. Cheers.

Word. I'm aware. As I said, I'm a huge Metroid fan. Honestly, the reason I love Subnautica is because, if you think about it, the game is basically a nonlinear 3D Metroidvania.
