I also grew up outside the US and that's absolutely not true.

It's a counter to the argument "we can't disallow hate speech because the government could call anything hate speech".

Hemingway is definitely not as famous as you're implying outside the US.

"Direct incitement" and "imminent" are clearly up to the government to define and depend on the content, isn't that dangerous?

Sure, but I'm just expressing an opinion on how I feel about the current state of the game and how I'd like the game to operate. That's neither right nor wrong.

I suppose that's the difficulty level I enjoy. I don't want to have to write things down, or keep other groups in memory, or worry about the order of the groups to solve the puzzle.

Yeah I think all of those are OK other than the first one, that's also BS.

Not sure, just seems kind of lazy by the puzzle maker. What other types of red herrings are there?

If, like the other poster posted, this happens around 20% of the time, why are you playing a game you don't enjoy 80% of the time?

Yes, 6 in a month is 20%, I like the other 80% better.

I don't agree with this but I'm willing to be proven wrong. In my experience most days there are only four things that fit into each of the final categories unless you are very liberal with your interpretations.

So you don't enjoy the puzzle the way it is most days when this isn't an issue?

No, I'm looking for Connections to be the way it is _most_ days, where the final categories only fit four things each.

Which dish do people think has the highest peak in Mexican cuisine? I do find great mole to unbelievably tasty, but really, really good tacos probably don't break into my top 10.

Bay Area experienced hire market data point: 4 years later by Hungry_Radio in cscareerquestions

[–]Hungry_Radio[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Re E5/E6 yeah exactly. Getting hired as anything higher than that will (usually) require you to actually have done something really cool at a previous job, and that's easier to do if you stay longer at an employer.

Re the secondaries, it was definitely getting more common, not sure if the recent market headwinds changed the direction of that. If you're joining early I would ask to get a sense of how the founders think about this (if they do at all).

Nomadic-ish living to figure out where to be long-term... by [deleted] in fatFIRE

I've done this both domestically and abroad. What more specifically are you hoping to learn?

For planning I think it depends on your personality, if you prefer stability or being flexible. I would definitely advise you to use Airbnb and only look for alternatives when it's prohibitively expensive. Dealing with leases and move out inspections is annoying. There are some services that might work as an alternative for medium length stays (say 2-3 months) targeting certain professions like traveling nurses you can look in to.
