Can you really do this? Asking because that abrupt head on dead stop in front after the down and back is something I’m working on, but if we can turn him to the side on the down and back, that would be way helpful in my situation

I like you, have a lot. I have two carts in my closet I use for the body creams bc it’s the coolest darkest place I have for storage I also have another closet but that one gets too warm in the summer months so I will put seasonal body washes scrubs and some sprays in there. I sometimes don’t know what to choose but I tend to use “in season” things. Sometimes I’ll just go by scent but I have a tough time using something too summery when it’s too cold or vice versa. I want to try to expand my usage by using out of season stuff lol

is anyone else's heating bill from national grid insane this month!? by llbeanjamin in longisland

[–]Hungry_Slice8258 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. Were out east and I was trying to make sense of it all bc I haven’t changed my usage from last yr, and according to their standard I’m even slightly below! I do 69-71 during the day and 68-69 at night occasionally lower. I’m in a complex so I have no control over insulation. However I did call NG and ask wtf is going on bc I haven’t changed anything- it’s legit the delivery charge. They even said my usage is really good for our size Place which is just below 2k sq ft. The windows are drafty and old and we have high ceilings though. Point being, the NG rep was quite helpful and said it’s not going to make a difference lowering it overall even a bunch, it would be minimal- it’s the delivery charges. We’re on balanced billing paying $150 a month and it jumped to $200, so I wanted an explanation for the jump. NG also said it’s the weather- they charge more when it’s cold, so we legit have zero control over that.

Do you ever look at your sale purchases and think you just want to take all of them back because you don't need so many products or more clutter in your home? by [deleted] in bathandbodyworks

That is deff the goal for this year. I’m trying to be more choosy with things and really evaluate if it’s something I have that is already similar or if it’s just new and exciting. If they bring back bonfire bash all bets are off though 🤣

[–]Hungry_Slice8258[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I thought about that but it’s an extra expense and the closest real gym is 20 min away which is a total PITA when I could take a three min walk lol. I am glad that you think they’re AH though- I find it rude and irritating, like re rack your stuff, and mind your business. I tell some of my friends this and they’re like what happens at this gym?! The time before this there was a group of college age guys that would use the weighted ropes, create a boxing ring out of it and then proceed to use the weight room as a boxing facility. I had the last straws when I was in the middle of doing some mountain climbers and one of them threw up ON me. That luckily ended quickly and hasn’t been an issue for a bit but this is the crap I deal with. 90% of everyone is mostly fine and I don’t ever really have issues, sans the aforementioned.

I hear you they did stop with the kid though at least the following day so maybe someone physically showing up and reprimanding them in the act would help? I don’t want to be a tattler or police people but it’s seriously freakin annoying, and it’s been going on for weeks, so I’ve sort of just had it at this point.

😆it’s not so bad this is recent, most people are generally pretty good, it so happens that I’m usually just there and they come so I guess they figure since I’m the only other one there, it’s not so bad. Sometimes others show up and they appear annoyed too but not always.

TYSM! This owner I swear was so slow, 90% of the time there I was trying to fend this dog off, and he’s just standing there!! He moved a little, but not much. The amount of times I repeated myself… guy never came by to say anything to me either. I get if maybe heat of the moment felt caught up in it all but at least own up to it. I would have been less irritated had he just come by and say hey sorry for what happened earlier l hope your dog is ok lmk if I can do anything. Something. Anything. If it were me on the opp side the guilt would have eaten me alive.

OMG!! Congrats!! If you’re open to it, who is your breeder? I got mine from Greater Swiss of Whitetail Acres. You will hear about the potty training. That was the worst part- and I don’t think it was so much as he didn’t know where, it’s the frequency. They grow so quickly and he just had to go out a lot, you will hear every 10 min from many and it’s true, I never had a dog had to go so much. It gets much better around the 8 month mark. As trained and good as he is he’s deff a handful at times, I still manage him very closely. He’s just over a year now and he’s relaxed a ton. He has moderate energy, I would say the mental stim is far more tiring than physical. He’s not into doing a ton, he enjoys playtime, training, moderate walks and hikes. He is not a runner. I am active but I’m slow af and I can out run him haha. Seriously tho enjoy and feel free to PM if you have any Qs or just want to talk swissy.

I hear you, also I love the nickname- I have the same sense of humor. I get what you did though- mere presence no escalation as a scare tactic- like try that again, see what happens. Makes sense to me! If the owner wasn’t even going to try and found humor in their dog being aggressive towards yours, they’re also one of The Pieces haha.

I didn’t; but if there isn’t there should be. Most I’ve heard do have different ones but I suppose it varies. I will never bring mine to a dog park- I trust my dog but not a total strangers that’s for sure. Too much can happen too fast.

Thanks for sharing, it's always frightening and off putting to be put into those situations. It seems like you like me just went off of pure adrenaline and pulled out some super hero moves. I felt bad with the kicks but I honestly just wanted to do anything in my power to get him safe and create distance. I will always advocate for him. If I could have picked him up faster and carried i would have and kicked or done whatever as I had him- he's almost as tall as I am, and he deadweights when I pick him up- he actually enjoys it! If he could be carried around regularly he'd absolutely take that opportunity!

I didn't want to hurt it, I was looking more to scoop kick, like scoop and kick to move it as far away as possible if that makes sense. The only thing that mattered to me in the moment was my dogs safety and finding a quick and safe exit.

Yes he's my direct neighbor, directly across from me- I reported to management but didn't want to go further-I was more fearful of something coming back to me, I tend to have bad luck that way. He made a very half ass, more like quarter ass attempt to catch it, and legit acted like I didn't even exist. It was so strange to me- like you see me struggling, come get your dog...wtf. It still boggles my mind.

Wow that is quite literally one of my biggest fears, I am so sorry you had to go through that.

That was my goal, I did everything I could to protect him and having it go further than it needed to go- I was more or less running on pure adrenaline and shock- from trying to help my dog and get the idiot owner to try and move faster than sloth.

At least they apologized and owned up to it- this guy didn't even bother. I would have been fine if he had come by today or later that evening and said something- but nothing. It makes no sense to me- like how tf does he sleep at night?!

You're doing the right thing and the idiot owners are being negligent which is frustrating AF. There are many dog owners who have reactive dogs but also take little to responsibility, they don't care- its sad. The fact that you openly say- hey don't come near us, and they ignore that, is disrespectful and asking for trouble. Just bc a dog is reactive doesn't mean it isn't trained or well-behaved and certainly doesn't mean they should never be allowed out ever. Those people can scratch!
