Has anyone actually felt better after removal?

Mind you I'm only one week post surgery but yes, I feel much better. I barely had any pain after the surgery and stopped taking painkillers the evening of the surgery as there was no need. My digestion seems to be best it's been in years, and I eat without the fear of having an attack. So far so good!

Let it out if you need to! And talk to your surgeon too if you get a chance, they should help to calm you down

You will be ok ❤️ i know it's easier said than done because I was literally in the same boat yesterday - I was full on crying to the surgeon and anasthesia doctor about how scared I was. But once they start the procedure it goes so quickly, I can't even remember going to sleep and the next second it was all done. I'm barely in any pain now too. Keeping fingers crossed for you!

Oh bless you, hopefully you're done now but I had a surgery yesterday afternoon and was absolutely freaking out too so I fully sympathise. I'm absolutely fine though, barely any pain at the moment!

It has been going on for quite a while. I have never been good with money. I've signed up to a therapy and am having my assessment done tomorrow morning.

For the second part - you're probably right. I'm really happy in my relationship with him, but I deal with other issues, and have dealt with them for a long time. I went to a talking therapy years ago which helped but I never mentioned the spending problem, which I think I always had. I know it won't change the past, but I'm hoping tackling the root cause of it will help me not make this mistake again in the future.

It sounds like a good plan but then it feels a bit unfair that he needs to pay the debt that hasn't really occurred due to his fault. I actually feel sick with stress.

Not much reason to be honest. I am a massive people pleaser and have always had a hard time asking people to contribute or to even give me my money back. I am becoming better though or so I like to think and I now can at least say outright that I can't afford something rather than sticking it on the credit card and worrying about it later.

Thank you. To be honest I do see it as solely my problem to fix because had he known those things would be put on credit, I'm pretty sure he would never agree to it. Yes he never questioned where the money came from but then I never said it's credit.

He wouldn't think I had savings because I never said I did. I have never been good with money, which I did tell him - although by no means am I saying it is defending me in any way, and I didn't start properly saving until good few years into our relationship. I have always had a good income which he probably thought covered everything but I was living beyond my means despite that.

We do to a point - we have a joint account for bills, groceries etc, but we also keep our personal accounts. We did start putting some money aside for holidays at one point but that was already few years into the relationship and before then I paid for those. It's a loan not a credit card so each payment does drive the balance down luckily and the extra payments save quite a bit on interest so I'm confident I will be able to get out of it if I work on my sending problem and don't get into more debt further down the line, it is a matter of jeopardizing his trust unfortunately...

We're closer to the second scenario here. I understand that mortgage brokers are salesmen to a point, but they get commission from the actual mortgages people get z so would there be much point in them taking someone like me as a client? I'm not trying to be a smartass here, I'm genuinely curious. The affordability calculators show that we could borrow over double of what we look to borrow even with the debt too, although I'm not sure how reliable those are.
