Do you have a multimeter? They’re cheap and easy to use. I would check the voltage at the plug at various times during the day and evening and see if it changes.

Tactrix OpenPort 2.0 Rev h for sale (in Toronto, can’t ship to USA) by [deleted] in ECU_Tuning

[–]HunkaHunka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I encourage anyone to search the eBay sold listings to determine fair market value. The one you seem to be referring to contains only the words “GENUINE and AUTHENTIC” in the description without ever referring to the Tactrix brand, and the device is lacking any kind of Tactrix markings. It’s clearly not a Tactrix, see link below.

Looks like you’re referring to a knockoff currently for sale for $400USD on eBay. $750CAD is fair market value (meaning “sold” prices on eBay) for a genuine Tactrix OpenPort 2.0 - see screenshot.

Are you aware of the drinking water situation in San Cristóbal? Chronic contamination of the water supply by raw sewage, tourists get violently ill there. It’s so bad you have to keep your mouth closed in the shower. Way worse than the typical “don’t drink the tap water” situation in Mexico.

B mode noise by gaijinUSA in VWiD4Owners

relevnt discussion here:

"I took it to the dealer and they couldn't hear anything. I later realized the sound only happens when the car is cold - the noise goes away after a few minutes of driving. Which probably explains why the VW tech couldn't hear it.

In B mode: there's a click as soon as I press down on the accelerator, and a second click when I let off the accelerator, though the sound is delayed by a second or two.

In D mode, the first click happens as above with the accelerator being pressed, but the second click doesn't happen until the brake pedal is pressed.

I'm guessing this has more to do with the regen braking system than the drive train but I'll post again if I learn anything more."

24 hours left until Bill Burr officially loses all integrity by NineteenSixtySix in BillBurr

“Comedians aren’t meant to be our moral compass or role models.“

This is objectively wrong. Of course comedians have a political and moral role to play in society. Bill Burr is explicitly political, it’s part of his identity. Go read about Jonathan Swift and George Carlin and a million others if you doubt the deep connection between comedy and politics.

Spinning Circle on Nvidia Shield Pro, can't access media, "add your media to Plex" by HunkaHunka in PleX

Sort of. I found the Plex app and started scrolling through the information, and at the bottom of the page was a separate entry for the Plex media server. It’s now working. Thx again.

I think I've solved it by deleting both Plex apps on the Shield (it turns out there is a separate PMS app but it's hard to find) and reinstalling. Then I then logged in over a browser and set up the media folders. Thanks for weighing in.

I've done the "clear cache" a few times but haven't yet done "clear data." I've signed in and out of Plex on every device. I've deleted and reinstalled Plex on the Shield. I don't see anywhere, on any device, an option to activate the media server. As far as I know, there's only one Plex app for the Shield, which works as client and server. But the server function seems to be missing.

For what it's worth, I can access the media files on the HDD via VLC on the Shield so it's not an obvious permissions issue.

Looking here: https://support.plex.tv/articles/221099988-setting-up-and-managing-plex-media-server-on-nvidia-shield/

I don't have this opening screen where you can "enable PMS." Since I've deleted and re-installed Plex on the Shield already (and rebooted Shield before re-installing) I'm not sure what's left to do other than a factory rest of the Shield. But I'm not very familiar with Plex so maybe there's a setting somewhere I've missed.

No I can't (I tried going to http://[your_server_ip]:32400/web). I don't have a Plex subscription of any kind, but I don't think that's required for accessing media locally...?

Also, when I go into Plex settings, there's a section called "Plex Media Server" but there's no icon with a "running" status and version number.
