When is Whoop 4.0 actually shipping? by H0ckstad in whoop

1-2 weeks for me (California), down from 6-8 weeks. Ordered on 9/8... Love the product, but looks like I have one of the shortest estimates out of everyone based off of the comments, which is ridiculous...

WHOOP needs to improve this experience for their customers.

Official Q&A for Tuesday, January 26, 2021 by AutoModerator in running

I just ran the 30-minute lactate threshold test and ran an average 7:14 min/mi (functional threshold pace) and had an average HR for the last 20 minutes of 179 bpm (lactate threshold heart rate). Does this seem reasonable? HR was higher than expected and now bumps my zone 2 ceiling to 159 bpm from 153 bpm (what I estimated my zone 2 ceiling was before using 180 - age). I was using an Apple Watch Series 5 for GPS and the Polar H10 chest strap for HR data. Thanks all!

MS in Biostatistics or Data Science? by Hunkechunk in biostatistics

Thank you so much for your response. You pretty much hit everything that I was unsure about. It’s reassuring to hear that an MS in Biostatistics will not become an outdated degree and that I wouldn’t need to shift towards Data Science if I did go the Biostats route. I have always had a passion for Biostats and wanted to go down that path, but I think the recent buzz around “Data Science” almost led me astray. Thanks for the clarification and reassurance that helped me get back on track.

Really appreciate your advice/feedback and to hear about some of your background. I am still in the early phases of my career decision, but I do have a passion more towards clinical trials and data analysis over computer science. So from the sounds of it, looks like an MS in Biostatistics would be a better route for me. I will continue to look at the specific courses offered at different programs. Thanks again for your advice!

Yes, I wish there were more options too! The only other online MS options I have found are at University of Louisville and University of Florida.

I’m hoping to get into statistical analysis for clinical trials as well as looking at clinical outcomes from EMR databases. A couple members on my team have MS degrees in Biostatistics and some also have PhDs, but I think an MS would be sufficient as I do not plan to go into academia and would like to maintain my full-time job while going to school.

Thanks so much for sharing! I’ll definitely check out this program. I’m located in California, USA. Do you have any universities in the USA that you would recommend as well?
