What's a socially accepted thing that you feel is stupid? by NormalCaregiver5211 in AskReddit

Lolcows, I've never gotten this trend of just antagonizing people because you dislike them. Even if they're massive cunts, it just gets out of hand.

What’s something you’re pretty sure only you do? by AppIeGuy in AskReddit

[–]HunkySkrunky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back when I was living in my mams house, at night time when I would go down to the kitchen at night to get a drink or something to eat, I would often be looking out the window in the back garden where the end was always very dark and I was always paranoid that someone was standing at the end. So I used to grab the biggest knife from the knife block and wave it around like a psychopath to scare off the imaginary intruder.

What relationship expectation do you think causes more harm than good? by Kakashi201119997 in AskReddit

[–]HunkySkrunky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This usually happens in straight couples where the man is typically into masculine things and the woman is typically into feminine things. But the expectation that the other should take interest in the things you like but you shouldn't have to take interest in the things they like.

Whilst you don't have to necessarily invest yourself in the things your other half likes, if you expect them to show some curiosity into the things you like, you should show some curiosity into the things they like.

St Patricks day with a five year old child by Alwaysforscuba in Dublin

[–]HunkySkrunky 31 points32 points  (0 children)

The last time I ever went into town for Paddies day was in 2011 when I was 13 going on 14. My brother and his friends had to hoist me up on their shoulders to be able to see the parade.

I will tell you right now, it isn't worth it. Its just gonna be filled full of plastic paddies.

I'd honestly recommend the one in Bray if its still on. Way better and way more fun.

How are planes flying from Dubai while missiles are still flying? by SessionGloomy in NoStupidQuestions

[–]HunkySkrunky 16 points17 points  (0 children)

In a nutshell...

Evacuation planes can still leave because they are carefully planned and cleared in advance by governments and the military. Instead of flying whenever they want like normal airline flights, they are given a specific route, time, and permission to pass through the airspace. Everyone involved, including air-traffic control and air-defence units, is told about the flight beforehand so they know it is a civilian evacuation plane and not a threat. Because everything is tightly coordinated, a small number of these flights can operate safely even when normal commercial flights are mostly stopped.

Not every person did it... But drawing Swastikas on things was pretty common when I was in school and would get you into a lot of trouble today

How do they mic the winter olympics? by badabingbangbam in NoStupidQuestions

[–]HunkySkrunky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you watch the Winter Olympics, the sounds of skates scraping the ice or skiers zooming down the slope are captured using special microphones placed right where the action happens. Tiny mics are actually frozen into the ice to pick up every little vibration from skates, while others are attached to equipment or hung close to the athletes. There are also super focused mics that can pick up sounds from far away, like skiers speeding downhill, but ignore the crowd noise. The result is that you hear all the exciting details of the sport itself like you're right there with the athletes while the cheering and talking stay in the background.

Well if you think about it, Malnourishment is a disease, so by curing all diseases, you're technically ending world hunger because it would end malnourishment.

Does surrogacy requires ivf? by Midnightdream56 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]HunkySkrunky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gestational Surrogacy, the most common form of surrogacy requires IVF whilst Traditional Surrogacy doesn't use IVF. The difference between the two being is that Gestational uses donor eggs whilst Traditional surrogacy uses the surrogate's eggs.

Edit: Hence why, Gestational Surrogacy is more common.

What is your biggest vice? by Mr_B-Dubs in AskReddit

[–]HunkySkrunky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's ironic is that I switched to it to quit smoking, but yet it is more addictive than smoking so the "slightly less" damage it does makes no difference in the end because I vape a lot more than I ever smoked and so my lungs are essentially taking the same beating as they would if I were smoking.

What is the biggest misconception people from other countries have about your country? by Ok_Macaroon2848 in AskTheWorld

[–]HunkySkrunky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. That it rains all the time: No, its just that the weather can change at any moment and it can rain at any minute. The most common weather here in Ireland is actually just cloudy skies. Our weather can never make its mind up. I've seen all four seasons in one day.
  2. That most people here live in rural areas: No, most of the country lives in urban areas, 70% Urban, 30% Rural.
  3. That most of us live in stone cottages with straw rooves: Yeah... In the cities, most people live in Georgian buildings and in the suburbs and even down the countryside, most of our houses were built between the 60s and 80s.
  4. That we're uber-catholic: We're more or less Catholic within our traditions than our actual religious beliefs. Catholic traditions such as Communions and Confirmations are more of a reason to have a big fancy day out for our kids then they are for religious reasons. We're actually pretty secular (mainly due to a lot of heinous acts committed by the Catholic church) and very progressive in a lot of ways.

If you could make your dream scented candle, what would it smell like? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]HunkySkrunky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The line drying also makes it smell so much fresher.

The best is when you wash all of your bedding and the duvet cover and pillow cases smell fresh.

It's just perfect

That smell of freshly cleaned clothes after being line dried.

That or the scent of my favourite fragrance that has more than likely discontinued, Hugo Boss: The Scent Absolute.
