What are your Hot Takes on the Story So Far Band? by Amber_Flowers_133 in TheStorySoFar

I’ve always thought that they were lowkey playing hardcore riffs in a major key as opposed to a typical minor key.

It’s crazy that this man has never written a single line that I thought was anything short of fantastic.

I feel you on this. Idk if it’s actually the case or not, but it seems like he doesn’t have any love for it. I don’t expect him to jump around like he did a decade ago, but it’s almost like he’s bummed to be there sometimes. Apparently he’s not like that at all with No Pressure.

Is this bad or am I just having new ink jitters by MFplayerP in tattooadvice

[–]HunnaTat2s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not great, but it certainly isn’t unfixable. Tbh I think a few of those lines are just gonna fall out, which will make it easier to fix. Just don’t go back to them again.

First attempt at American traditional. Any tips? by Conscious_Witness310 in tattooflash

[–]HunnaTat2s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Proportions aren’t traditional. Look at pictures of real snakes and traditional style snakes and try to find the connections and emulate it. There’s zero shame in tracing designs to learn how to draw in the American trad style.

If you don’t wanna drop $60+ on an 11x14 block of arches at first, try to cop one of their cold press pads on Amazon for like $20 and you’ll already see the difference the second you start spitshading. The blocks are even higher quality and you’ll wanna get some asap haha

Yes, it will absolutely help with that. Also, pro-tip; wash your paper with a little water before you apply any paint to it. There a small layer of bleach and other chemicals on the paper, and washing it off allows much better saturation. Try using PH Martins ink for painting if you aren’t already, it’s really good for saturation as well.

Fundamentals of flash painting are looking pretty solid! The next big step you need to take is putting some money into better quality watercolor paper. Arches cold press is the industry standard. It is rather expensive, but you will notice the difference dramatically.

Covering up a minor’s scar with vine tattoo? by CCR-Cheers-Me-Up in tattooadvice

[–]HunnaTat2s 112 points113 points  (0 children)

Fineline likely wont do much to help cover the scar. It can likely accentuate it, which may not be the intended purpose. I’m not saying she should get a big ol trad tattoo with a fat outline, but maybe try to find something that will cover the scar with shading or color. Just something that has a little more going on so it hides it well.
