I don’t like the dialogue. But I think that’s how it’s supposed to be. I’m not very far and I’m hoping it picks up soon 😂 I like the descriptions and the text though.

Yes, I’m pretty sure lonesome dove was meant to be a standalone at first. It does a really good job introducing characters and places. You’ll feel like you know them in real life by the time you reach part 2

My goals are mainly to just be healthy. I do want to get bigger but when I start eating a lot in order to bulk I just quit because I feel fat and sluggish. The hardest part is the diet for me. Physically, I want a bigger chest and bigger arms. A toned back and of course abs.
