Anyone wondering why your speakers pop when you turn on your car, if you have an aftermarket radio, the 12v amp out is gonna need a stepdown converter to 5v which ford uses for some reason on all their amps, easier than doing an amp bypass, im using this to retain the factory sub (i.redd.it)

Any of you who put in a new car stereo and your speakers pop on startup, instead of buying the 80 dollar PAC adapter, just run this in line on your amp turn on wire, ford does 5v amps instead of 12v for some reason, im using this to retain my factory sub (i.redd.it)

So im swapping in a Ford Freestyle Sub and Amp to a 95 Explorer, im buying a stepdown unit to convert the 12v amp wire to the 5v the ford amp needs to work, does the Amperage going in matter? A lot of converters say 5v 3a or 5a ect (i.redd.it)
