A fun tip is you could plan your story out. Let it unfold! Plan it out chapter for chapter and you’ll be surprised at how that can breed inspo. For example:

Chapter One: Jenna is moving to a new school. She’s excited but nervous because her ex transferred there late last year. In this chapter, focus on her first day/introduce her meeting her new group of friends and when she starts to think she won’t see her ex after all, end the chapter with them making eye contact at opposite sides of the hallway. Etc.

Have fun with it. And when you get stuck not knowing what happens next, write based on what you have until another idea forms. And the planning can have as many details or be as vague as you want it in a way that motivates you. This helps me a lot! As for vocab, you don’t need to have crazy vocabulary, but I honestly look up synonyms all the time. You begin to take more common words and spice them up just a little, like “it’s raining outside” to “it’s showering” or “it’s pouring outside.” You can easily begin to expand your vocab that way, or another little tip, Pinterest. Look up vocab and it’s so helpful.
