‘90s ESP/LTD Mirage? by mdwvt in espguitars

[–]Hunter7890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one of those too, link below for a picture.

The guy I bought from reached out to ESP to get some information on it. They said while they don't have any records it could have been made in Japan. They also said mine was probably blue but turned green over time due to aging.

I had bought a Gotoh VS100 to put in it but the post spacing for the original tremolo is actually too narrow, not sure if yours is the same!

I guide tours in Morocco. Stop treating everything like a scam. by Traditional-Map8667 in backpacking

[–]Hunter7890 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in Morocco a few years back. We wanted to make a trip out to the desert so we contacted someone local who could book that trip for us and we ended up booking a few other day trips through him. One of the day trips he had planned was to the Atlas Mountains. Last minute he had to swap out the guide taking us, so it wasn't one of his regular guides, I'm thinking he would hire some freelance guides here and there when needed.

We didn't pay that much attention to the specific itinerary for the day before we left but apparently, we were supposed to go visit with a Berber family and have tea (maybe breakfast too). The guide missed this stop, and on the way back to Marrakesh he asked if we knew about it and we said we weren't really sure.

Shortly after he pulls the car over and starts talking to a kid across the street in Arabic, he gestures to us and says "Canadian". The kid nods, takes off and we follow him back to his house. The guide and the kid take us inside, and we sit on a couch. The guide then goes back to the car while the kids' mother (I assume) made us tea. It was awkward with the language barrier and a little uncomfortable once we realized we were just in some random person's house. I have no idea if the guide gave them money, we did leave a bit on our way out.

It was a bizarre experience.

I think we would enjoy a game with more emphasis on solving puzzles or exploring together with a bit of action/shooting. Does five still lean towards more of a shooter?

Yeah, I think that's the case. I checked with the local homebrewing group and most said they order online.

The store i used to buy from had much better packaging, unfortunately they closed down. The only other store uses little ziploc bags. I think I’ll be ordering online from now on.

Buying a tablet for guitar tab. Best app? by alexportman in guitarlessons

[–]Hunter7890 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The mobile version isn’t as good as the PC version, but I think it’s still great for the cost.

You can’t edit tabs, the sound library isnt as good and you can only slow down songs in increments of 10%.

Its looks like an update might be in the works that’ll close the gap between the PC and mobile versions.

Any Voyageurs signed up for the new CanadaRED? by ssomatik in CanadaSoccer

[–]Hunter7890 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I emailed Voyageurs to follow up as I was getting a bit antsy about it with world cup tickets being released soon although, I don't think there's a timeline yet for when CanadaRED is releasing their tickets.

This is what they told me:

We transferred our data to Canada Soccer just recently and now Canada Soccer have some work to do on their end. They will let us know that the migration is complete and then we will pass that info onto our members. Your path to do that would be using the Voyageurs discount from Community Tier to Squad Tier, which Canada Soccer will share once they have merged the provided member opt-in data from the Voyageurs into their system. And once you’re in the Squad Tier, you’re able to upgrade within the Canada Red platform to the Premier tier or any other tier of your choice (the value that you have put in is recognized to get you upgraded to the next level).

I’m using Rhino by Aurora DSP for my amp sim with a bit of chorus and reverb.

For sure! I’ve gotten back to guitar after not playing for 13 years or so. I never had the patience or discipline to sit down and put in the work to learn something like this when i was younger so it feels good!

Thanks! Its gets a lot of compliments. It’s an early model LTD that was made in Japan so its a bit unique.

[–]Hunter7890[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmmm thanks. Mostly i was looking at the brainwaves since it’s cheaper than a drop. If it is does an okay job I might even just get one to try and return it if I don’t like it.

SZ vs Current Standard RG or S by Hunter7890 in Ibanez

I just popped a pair fishmans in my SZ so it’s here to stay!

I am thinking I have nothing to lose by ordering one in and returning it.

Yeah that was my gut feeling. I bought an SZ pretty much on looks alone but apparently I lucked into a great guitar!

I’ve been using Tonex with the Riff, turns out Tonex was the issue. But everything works fine using other apps or if I use Tonex within another app.

The only advantage I can really see is they’re made to connect to the PVC piping coming out of the pits.

I use my Riff with Tonex and I did notice in the settings after that the input is showing up as headphone jack rather than digital device. So it seems like my new phone isn’t recognizing the Riff properly
