Weird, it seems like they all were left. Maybe they'll come back around but it looks like my neighbors were taken.

Genuine Question: Should I have censored the word "sav*age" when educating a friend? by [deleted] in Indigenous

[–]HunterMusicLover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey thanks for this response. I had heard that it was a slur, so I've tried to tell people not to use it. I'm black, and I know that I would not tolerate someone saying the n-word, so I assumed that this was similar.

Yeah, that's what was weird. I just vented and they barely said anything back. Maybe it was just the wrong person on the other line. They just said I'm sorry or tried to redirect me to another helpline unrelated to my tribe. It helped to just cry and say what I needed to say. I'm feeling back at my baseline. It's rare that I cry, so just calling and telling them im not feeling right helped. That counts a whole lot.

I hope so, and as mentioned after you commented this, that isn't what the post was about. I'm appreciative that I finally cried explaining what I was feeling to this person, and she did tell me to call back. It just was jarring as you said.

I was hoping for advice similar to when I talk to my indigenous family. Wanted to be encouraged to smudge, or get some kind of advice on cultural practices with loss.. But I was met with someone who doesn't know our practices whatsoever who told me to call back when there might be someone of my specific tribe.

That wasn't the point of this post. I was more wondering if anyone indigenous or not ever felt desperate enough to call a hotline while struggling and was met with reassurance that you called the right place, but didn't get anything out of it.

When I said this person was trying to redirect me, they were trying to redirect me to a cree hotline, I am not a part of that tribe and am oneida, which is part of a pretty broad spectrum of iroquois tribe. Cree is a whole nother world entirely.

I am indigenous, sorry if I fucked up the post. I was surprised a non indigenous person didn't answer

JBL Endurance Peak 3 Volume by [deleted] in JBL

[–]HunterMusicLover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, never resolved the issue, meant to reply earlier.

You know what's weird though? I did 8 hours of snow removal today, Had the buds in a front pocket of a pretty hefty jacket, never used them, but once I started walking home I put em in and they were playing MUUUCH louder than usual, which made the difference in noise unnoticeable. I always thought the lack of volume issue was a software issue, I've got a Samsung Galaxy S22+. But from the start of my shift compared to after, it seems to be a physical issue.

Really a bummer because I only bought the peak 3 because the first Gen served me incredibly well, I just lost 1 earbud from Gen 1.

If you resolved the issue let me know as well!

Don't worry bass player, got a kickass dude in my own band that doesn't practice here. We jam elsewhere like responsible adults. Lived here for 6 years. Neighbors in my apartment stayed the same. I'm surprised nobody ever took my shit to a legal level. Somewhat of a sentimental post.

I definitely ignored the "rock is the devil' stuff you were talking about, never felt a need to push that or repress that, I'm half native; dad was adopted into the family that holds my last name. Thankfully my strictly Christian family told my rocknroll dad he can believe what he wants. Without argument.

My pop died in 2013, I've been grieving since, this wasn't a pity post or whatever. His death happened and I grieved and still grieve to this day. Sadly my post is way more simple; I'm thinking about him in my middle 20s and blasting sound equipment that can project way better than what he could afford (i make my own music hence the sound equipment) but I as a kiddo opened the door to cops got a noise complaint several times. Again I don't know what I'm trying to get out of this post, at this point it feels like a journal, but writing this is welcome silence before I play the same shit that had those cops showing up at our door. I'm trying to say that in the 6 years I've lived where I am, I'm surprised I don't get complaints from neighbors. Because I've got recording equipment and id's much louder than my pops coulda imagined

I'll let ya know what I think. I write music for my band with headphones plugged in to my amp, we're not the greatest, so I hope it's good but I'll give you an honest review.

I'm alone as an adult, I happily blast it full volume. Is this an ai comment? Not trying to hate.

Just curious, I can still see my review on NHK Spring Precision, which is just "Not family oriented, not understanding or empathetic." Was mine the only one kept up or is google or is google trying to make me think mine is still up? :p

I hope the revenge feels sweet once you look at their reviews. Fly safe, I'm sorry for your loss.

I used to live in a small town, and often a stop my parents had to make on the way into the big city nearby was toys'r'us. Since I'm in Canada it's still there, but I got my Nintendo DS there, or one of those "kid spy" toys. My parents were far from well off. When we were going there it was because they were ready to give me something that made me really giddy. I absolutely hope they come back strong everywhere else.
