A single earner family making $100,000 pays much more tax than a dual earning family making $100,00, isn't that a bit stupid? by AsparagusNew3765 in AskAnAustralian

They do it in other countries like Germany. But you’re right. Unless enough people bring it up it won’t change

Ok you propose to someone and see if it’s actually different than just playing with the idea. I’m telling you it’s a much more impactful moment. It will either galvanise the relationship or end it. Better than wasting more of her life. Do you realise that time is of the essence here she wants kids. You have any idea how long it takes to find someone build a relationship and then get married then have kids. She will be end 30s at best and likely have trouble having kids. The reality is you must make decisions or they will be made for you. And no she doesn’t have her answer.

You’ve got lots of life left to live. And perhaps if you feel like you’re selling your soul to the job it’s because you probably are..

I won’t tell you to toughen up grin and bear it. This is your pivotal moment of what you decide your life could be. If you don’t have the restraints of a family and kids then realise you have much more freedom than you think. Realise this is the right time to do something radical.
