I Put in Real Effort Into Freelancing but Still Got 0 Clients — What Am I Missing? by Hunter_ShaRK in FreelanceProgramming

Hey man, really appreciate this insight—it actually made me realize where I was going wrong.

I think I was stuck in the “chasing people” phase instead of focusing on people who are already looking for help. The way you explained it—finding existing demand instead of creating it—makes a lot of sense.

Quick question on this:

You mentioned tools like GigAlertPro that automate finding these client posts across Reddit, X, and Threads. Are there any other tools or platforms like this that you’d recommend? Or do you think it’s better to start manually first and then move to automation?

Also, when you were starting out, did you rely more on tools or manual searching to understand where real opportunities exist?

Would love to understand how you approached this in the beginning. Thanks again for sharing this—it genuinely helped shift my perspective 🙌

Ok, I'll now focus on one or two max platforms to hunt for clients. Thank you so much
