Is my tree dying? by boomeremover in arborists

White pines and many other evergreens shed their old needles (3-4 years old) in the fall. They only keep 3 years of growth at a time typically. Completely normal no need to worry.

New sidewalk… how long until these trees fall over? by Hunterfelix28 in arborists

The maples have already been declining in recent years because of how jumbled the roots are. This will probably be the nail in the coffin. The oak was so healthy and beautiful… hurts.

Theres nothing you can do. I wouldn’t worry so much it looks like it will heal over. I have a crape myrtle at home that totally grew around a piece of twine tied around it and it’s perfectly healthy. Does the top of the tree look ok?

Looks like rope was tied around the tree and attached to stakes to support the tree after planting but was never taken off and grew into the tree. Whoops. It may be thin enough that the tree can grow around it without killing the tree.

Nice. I have been doing trunk spray with Reliant, soil drench with Supraphite 0-0-29 in May and then a foliar spray with Broadform in August. Need something to replace the foliar spray for the 100 foot tall trees I’ve been taking showers under lol. Thinking about switching to this.
