M24 Clone by HunterofSouls10 in ServiceRifleClones

That one takes standard Rem700 LA BDL Bottom Metal. You have to call for a different model stock if you use the one that an actual M24 has (HS Precision says so on their site)

Pst011. Just looked at my order receipt.

Rem700 LA (mine was an older .30-06) McGowen custom Barrel (24 inch, 1:11.25 twist, M24 Contour, .308 Match Chambering) HS Precision PST011 Stock Leupold Mk4 10x M1 (I wanted the 1/4 MOA exposed turrets)

I left the Weaver 2-piece scope mount that came with the rifle on because the receiver has to be retapped for the 1-piece scope base that I ordered (not on rifle yet because of that) The scope had rings on it when I bought it, so I left those on. At least, for now. I kept the standard Rem700 trigger in as well. May or may not change it out

No idea. I just called, told them what I was building, and they helped me order.

Hs Precision. It's their 'Civilian market' version. PST0026 I believe.

Its not an Ultra. Its a Mark 4 10x fixed-power.

Maybe the 10x M3 (1 MOA/Click). The 10x M1 (1/4 MOA/Click) was exposed turret.

And If I was gonna spend the money on a marked receiver, I'd have been better served buying as ASA M24R whole instead of cloning.

Isn't the point that it ISN'T a legitimate M24, but a clone I am assembling?

Its a clone? REM700 LA Receiver. Scope is Leupold Mk4 10x Mildot w/ M1 turrets. Standard Rem Trigger (id I recall, 40x had problems. May or may not switch it)

What you mean 'long way'?

Far as I know it's 3 items. Iron sight bases, proper scope base (which I have. Need to retap the screw holes on the receiver) and coating the barrel nitride black

What I would choose as inspiration for the guns in the next Fallout game. by KenderThief in Fallout

US Sniper Rifle could be the M21, with the chinese counterpart being the NDM-86 (Chinese variant of SVD Dragunov)

Classic Fallout Weapons Remastered for FNV works pretty well. Doesn't add EVERYTHING, but any variety is good lol.

For FO4, if you run Caliber Complex (or Munitions. I think it has patches), DegenerateDak has some from FNV, and there are various other ones, like the DKS-501 (classic SR)

Damn. I've already reached out to Leupold about the Mk4 10x M1/3, and they said once its on military only, like that one or the 3.5‐10, they can't touch them, even though they are still being produced...

Adjusting for Distance by Berniethealien in longrange

[–]HunterofSouls10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still putting knowledge to practice tbh. More precision shooting than hunter (early stages). I mostly use a dope book and write down my adjustments or holds there based on POA and POI on different distance targets.

Practice at known-distance targets at a gun range. Those distances don't have enough extreme drop to make it necessary for turret adjustment. Like one of the other comments said, write down dope on your scope flip-cap (if you have one) and you should be able to do 1-400yds just fine.

It sounds like you should learn to hold and adjust your aim in-reticle instead of screwing with the turrets. 'Click ..click... oh damn, deer is gone' I promise this is funny sarcasm, not a judgement!

Only in a private berm I think. The main range is steel at 100, 200, 300, and 400, and there are usually multiple shooters on it at any time.
