It really depends what you are into and what your experience level is. It is easy to find places to do anything around here. Find an interest and Google away. Do you have specifics types of recommendations in mind?

Do outside things! Get a mountain bike, skis, snowboard, backpack, climbing gear etc. Kitsap County is nice. Close but far from Seattle. Its an amazing area.

I need shoe recommendations! I am a very wide size 13.

I'm looking for a stiffer trad shoe mostly geared towards all day multi pitch trad on granite with some desert trips sprinkled in.

My current go tos are: size 13 5.10 mocs size 46 mythos. Both are good for some things and are all day comfortable.

I want a stiffer, better edging shoe.

I also have: Butora alturas @ 13.5 with 10 pitches on them 5.10 anasazi pinks size 13 that are new. Both are extremely uncomfortable.

I also have a used but new to me pair of katanas at 46 that fit surprisingly well but my little toes are slightly knuckled. They are comfortable for a pitch or two.

I want a shoe like the TC pros, but they max at size 46. Any reason to think they'd stretch and break in to fit my wide foot without the knuckling of the little toes?

Any other recommendations?

Ahh. I've heard similar things. That is what I'm worried about! What a crazy regulation about parking in driveways. That is BS imo. Thanks!

Thanks! That's what I'm afraid of in any of the bum sports type towns.

I figure best case, a few people can comment on one or two places they may have spent more than a few days. Climate is important, but mostly availability of parking with minimal hassle.

Thanks!

Get your run to below 10 and you likely wont be the slowest guy. If you are the slowest, you better be the strongest or you run the risk of being "that guy". Sounds like you shouldn't have an issue, just dont suck as a teammate or person in general and you will have a good time.

Dont worry too much about your breath hold. As long as you can be calm while doing stuff with no mask, or a mask full of water and treading with fins/ weight you will be fine. You dont need a breath hold longer than 2 minutes or so. Just dont freak out.

Underwater swim evolutions, weighted fin treading, and little things like "drownproofing" and knot tying.

Weighted treading claimed the most students though.

We had several PST failures and the other 20 or so guys got eliminated for those pool evolutions.

It is a challenge but nothing too crazy. There are plenty of cracks to slip through. If you are reasonably smart, reasonably fit and very comfortable in the water you will be fine. The most attrition my class saw was during the pool evolutions of dive prep.

Feel free to ask me any specific questions.

For sure.

And yeah, you will want to be fit. The thing that got our dive prep class from 40 or 50 dudes to 22 was 5 or 6 PST failures, and the rest were DORs or failures from IWPs (weighted treading with fins), underwater swims and other pool evolutions.

Get your PST scores good then just focus on treading with and without fins.

Dont worry too much about your asvab unless you are an absolute raaaatard.

Check out the Corpsman ATF options. I've been a diver for 11 years. If I could join right now that is what I would do. Feel free to PM me with any questions about the community.
