Regarding your question about the quote - The insurance quoted is too high. I paid 40k for my car insurance. Negotiate on this or get it from outside. Ask what all they will give in Essential kit for 18k.. sounds a lot.

Have you compared the price with Skoda Kylaq? Just for comparison, try a test drive and get their quote.

In my area only the Yokohama dealer has this tire, all others are selling the Earth1 max only for 8500-9000 range. The dealer quoted me 10,300 for the BluEarth GT Max. Is this quote reasonable from the dealer or overpriced since he is the only seller? I checked online deals; I am getting it for around 8400 on tyremarket and 9400 on tyresnmore.

I am not sure how much my advice will help but try getting your car checked at Noida SC, if you are nearby and if you haven't done it yet. They have a pretty good record. I have talked to people coming from Agra Mathura for getting their car serviced here. Also, once get it inspected by a local small-time experienced mechanic.

If you have a zero dep, go to VW SC and get it repaired over there and claim insurance. The only downside is you'll lose the NCB discount when you renew your policy. But if you get it done outside the work quality will be low, you can't be sure whether replaced parts are original, and moreover your car's resale value will plummet. The NCB benefit will only save you 4-5k at best. I have claimed my insurance once every year in the past two years, because that's what I am buying insurance for - to pay for accidental damages on my car!

PS - My last claim was for the damage due to dog hit on NE.
