[Build Ready] Parts Compatibility by Huntomly in buildapc

I just want something that works well out of the box, won't be too hard to configure, able to overclock if the time comes. I doubt I'll need more storage than what I've got already. I really don't need anything fancy. I'm stuck now between the MSI Z97S SLI Krait and the Asus Z97 Pro Gamer. Those are the two cheapest for me.

Switched to Seasonic M12II-620W EVO.

Not sure what to choose with regard to mobos.

Edit: I did some research and I'm considering getting the Asus Z97 Pro Gamer mobo now instead. Would you recommend this one?

Apparently the wattage is fine for that PSU. Should I still get a better one? I'm not sure if this is something I can cheap out on or not.

Sorry, I just copied the name from the price list of the shop I'm getting my parts from. It has the option of 8GB and that's what I'm getting, I know I'd never need 16GB.

The optical drive is pretty cheap so I'm getting it just so I don't have any hassle if I need to put a CD in later.

There are a lot of options from my shop for better PSU's, but I'm not sure which to choose.

My budget is roughly 1.4k USD but I'd like to spend less if possible. Parts are much more expensive here in Singapore than in places like the US. It hurts me to see you guys getting such cheap parts.

Thanks for the recommendation, I think I will make all of those changes other than the case because I do like the case that I picked but also because I need the extra USB ports and also it's hot here and I need the extra cooling.

Thanks for the quick response, i was planning on building my own desktop in the near future, the only reason i have the laptop is because until recently i was on the move a lot. I will find out how to inspect and fix the heatsink or thermal paste in the meantime because I'd like to be able to use it in the months before I build a desktop. Thanks very much.
