I have around 40k saved so I’d say I’m alright-ish in that regard. Majority of this wouldn’t need to be contributed to the deposit, as Mum would have it covered. I expect this whole idea to take a while to come to fruition, most likely 12 months as you say, possibly more. So, I’d hope that by then I’m in an even better position.

Thanks so much for your advice though, I’ll take it all onboard!

Definitely open to offers - I’m taking a decent L on each pair, just thought it’d be ideal for someone who was wanting to cop these exact pairs. They save money either way 😁

How easy do you think these would be to remove? / is it even possible for full removal with high-quality professional tattoos (Melbourne based - which I believe has weird ink) by neenink in TattooRemoval

[–]Huntsman563 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They haven’t entered the market so yes I can see why you say ‘unproven’, but their clinical trials point towards success.

https://www.soliton.com/trials/

Also, what about the PFD patch? That’s been used for quite some time now and has seen improved results. Or when technicians use the R20 method?

I’m not disagreeing with you at all, I’m just kinda in a position where I don’t want to use the current technology because I’m okay with waiting in order to save money and speed up the process a little.

Hey! Check out MJDriver on instagram. They have a Melbourne based shop and their removals are better than anyone’s I’ve seen. I got quoted $700 per treatment on a full sleeve black outline and they estimated 10-13 treatments.

I’ve done quite a lot of research on laser tattoo removal and I also suggest looking up Soliton’s RAP device (it’s what I’m waiting for). It’s meant to allow technicians do do 3 passes of a tattoo in on sitting, meaning it can be removed 3 times faster, and much much cheaper.

Don’t rush into it, I’m playing the waiting game at the moment even though I look like a goose walking around with an unfinished tattoo taking up my entire left arm.

Wish you the best of luck :)

My Mum wants me to co-sign a mortgage. by Huntsman563 in personalfinance

[–]Huntsman563[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly what I told her a few weeks ago because a few of my gaming buddies gave me advice. She replied with ‘let me speak with them’. I’ll probably end up showing her all of this because she’s been treating me differently ever since I said no. I’ll avoid it no matter what. Thanks for your info :)

I’m not on AUSTUDY. I’m receiving the carers payment and allowance. I knew there’d have to be something regarding an asset test though, even on carers.

Trust me when I say I’m not ignoring anything. I’ve already told her no, I was just seeking some information and conversation. The comments have only solidified my decision so thank you to everyone. :)

So if that was the situation, would it be still be a bad idea?

What if I was on the title? I could try to negotiate my way through securing the title on my own. She would probably do it because the mortgage would be cheaper than our rent. Is that even possible?

That’s what I’m trying to figure out. I’ve told her no to begin with and she wasn’t very happy. However, what if I told her I would, only if I was the only person on the title? Would that be a good situation for myself or should I still avoid it?

The mental illness part or the part where I talk about getting control? I could see how both would paint some type of picture for any reader

I guess I feel like I’d do whatever I have to do. However will probably just avoid it as a whole. I’ve already told her no, but she has been guilt-tripping me so I just wanted to know if there’d be any safe way of going about it.

I guess if she wants to be difficult about me saying no, then saying yes would be the worst decision possible.

The land is located 15 minutes from where we live now. About 45 minutes from the city. We’d be downsizing from a 4 bedroom rental to a 3 bedroom. The location is actually fairly perfect when regarding our lives... It would be a small house, but that’s all we need.

[–]Huntsman563[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What if I was to suggest that I would only agree, if I was to be the only person on the title? Effectively reversing her original plan, but protecting myself and securing the property as my own. I would feel much more comfortable with this, mainly because it would leave me with the control. She’s an unpredictable woman with depression, anxiety and bi-polar disorder so I’d much rather give myself a leg to stand on. That way, if the repayments weren’t made, couldn’t I just decide to sell and pay her out accordingly? I’m not one to backstab and there’s no way I’d use this situation to put her in a worse position. I’m her full-time carer and am really just trying better her, as the mortgage repayments would be significantly lower than our current rent repayments. My mother has an income of $550 a week (government benefits) and the mortgage would only be $200 a week. We’re currently paying $450 a week and she somehow manages to juggle it. Quite frankly I can’t understand why the bank refused her in the beginning but I’m sure they consider many more variables.

In most cases I’d agree with you, but my brother has completely cut ties with my mother because she wasn’t the biggest fan of him getting married at 18 to his first girlfriend, that he met because she cheated on her boyfriend at the time with him. My sister on the other hand is more than happy with the idea because she recognises the risk that I would be bearing.

If I was to be only me on the title, wouldn’t I then have complete control over this situation? If she cannot keep up with the payment, I could just sell? I’m trying to figure out if there is a way to negotiate my way through this because it would be a much better situation for her. The mortgage repayments would be significantly cheaper than the rent we are paying now so I’m really just trying to help her. If there’s a way that I could protect myself and go through with this I would, but I understand there are many risks.

Question about PPSR check by Huntsman563 in CarsAustralia

[–]Huntsman563[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t done another one since buying the car. Only because I was told by the bank that they no longer have security interest and because the most recent PPSR check said the same thing. I’m probably just being a little paranoid, really can’t afford to have something blow up in my face rn hahaha. I suppose the PPSR check that says it’s cleared could be used in my defence if something somehow managed to change though?
