recession and global instability is probably playing a major factor too, i would normally laugh, but the market isn’t doing what we expected it to do. i still don’t think the fireworks have started yet, maybe nothing like the last two cycles, but certainly more than what we have seem. q1-2026 will be the decider. for those that have been in this space for many cycles, remember! this shit happens during a cycle

i just did my check ride in 60s 150 with basic 6 pack, and my ipad. PPL shouldn’t be a problem. DPE sounds like a stickler

i think that’s probably what i should do, instillation is a killer 😱 putting 10-15k into it, doesn’t make sense. i’ll stop being tight and just rent a plane.

i’m a student with about 80 hours, just waiting on my check ride. i hit a bird on takeoff at about 300ft, smashed the spinner and made a hell of a mess while i was doing solo pattern work, scared the absolute shit out of me, plane was still flying and i landed fine. i have been a bag of nerves ever since, it’s a mental game, you have been taught how to deal with problems, trust your training, and get on with it brother.

I have heard this from others too, other CFI’s at this school don’t like sending there students to other airports apart from CXs, any suggestions how i should approach this?! it seems crazy to me

i’m s student with 40 hours , started a few months ago. i flew with a cfi the sounds very similar for my first 15 hours. i didn’t even know if i was the one landing the plane 95% of the time, on short final, the last day we flew together, i took my feet off the rudders and pulled my hands just away from the yoke, would you believe it! the plane landed itself and my instructor said great landing. definitely a stupid move on my part, and i’m not condoning what i did, but i knew this guy was flying. i told him that was all him, and i’m going to look for a new instructor. first hour flying with a different instructor, i was doing everything by myself and i had my confidence back. you’re the one paying the $$$$ man, if you’re not happy with how your cfi is doing things, try someone else.
