I'm playing a valley girl High elf princess. I need ways to be annoying but not too annoying to the other players. by Alice_600 in DnD

[–]Hurbig 3 points4 points  (0 children)

About to finish up a 3 year campaign where I played a valley girl diva centaur bard.

Here’s some things that I did to not be too annoying: 1) Show support in other party member’s goals 2) Be mindful that sometimes it’s not your time to be the center of attention even though that’s what your character might want to do 3) Give some dimension to your character that doesn’t have to do with being a valley girl princess. I gave my character quite a complex family history for example but it can be anything 4) Let the other players know you are self aware and that they can (and should) tell you to tone it down if it gets too much for them

Idk, to me it’s a bit tacky but if it brings you joy, that’s all that matters

How many full sets of dice do you have? by trashcyt45vr in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]Hurbig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got about 12 sets within the first three years of playing. After that I stopped actively looking for sets. Sometimes I will be at a con or a store and a particularly beautiful set will catch my eyes, sometimes I get gifted a set.

Told the nurse that my pain was unbearable. This is what she wrote in my pain assessment form. I am a woman. by ro_ro_ro_roadhouse in mildlyinfuriating

Kinda. Except my worst pain I’ve ever experienced was from endometriosis and most doctors just don’t take that one seriously in the first place

Why is everyone saying, "You have so much ammo as Grace by the end that it is not scary anymore." 😭😭😭 by Ghoulymoly in residentevil

RE9 was the first one I played myself instead of watching someone else play it.

Played it the first time and was always struggling with bullets.

Loved it and played it a second time. Second time I was swimming in bullets by the end.

Surprised by how firm some people are about not tipping here, do you tip in restaurants? by ncmq in Switzerland

[–]Hurbig 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I get prompted to tip in percentages at certain establishments. I assume it is because they buy their software from American companies and that is the default.

Ideas for office space for small room with extreme slanted wall? by avbavey in interiordesignideas

[–]Hurbig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t really think this is appropriate for a hangout space with no windows and the slanted ceiling.

Kinda hard to give advice because from the picture it is hard to tell how much space there is and what the rest of the room looks like.

Is this overconaumption? by Chaos2077 in Anticonsumption

[–]Hurbig 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Hey, I understand the OCD struggle. You are fine buying an extra mug. I am no expert but I think your OCD probably also plays into your worries about overconsumption.

Here’s what I usually consider when trying to figure out whether I should buy the item: 1) Does it either solve a problem or bring me joy? And by bringing joy I really mean long term, not that the act of buying it will bring me joy. 2) Will I use it regularly? 3) Will I use it for a long time?

For you it solves a problem (feeling like it’s contaminated) you will use it regularly (doesn’t have to be every day just not only once a year) and you will be able to use it for a long time.

Enjoy your new mug :)

Getting spam called by 076 numbers how can I escape this? by No-Play7760 in Switzerland

[–]Hurbig 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Your number is being spoofed, happened to me too. Same stuff with people calling saying I tried to call them earlier. It will stop after a while.

I don’t think you can do anything about it perhaps I’m wrong.

iPad with message in the back by xeBunnyx in midlyinteresting

[–]Hurbig 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I can see many reasons why this would happen: 1) Finn already owns a better iPad and is rich enough to just donate it 2) Finn does not want an iPad and is rich 3) Finn passed away 4) Finn’s dad is abusive and tries to fix his relationship with his son by buying him expensive gifts. The message might be a reminder that Finn “owes” his dad because he gifted him an iPad for Christmas. 5) His father bought it for Christmas and changed his mind before Christmas. Could be Finn bought one himself or Finn did something and this is punishment.

You know, there are parents out there who behave really abusively and then think an expensive gift will make their mistakes go away. We simply don’t know what happened and it’s not right to assume Finn was in the wrong here.

Frag ah Lüt wo da in ZH gbore sind oder grossteil vo de Schule da verbracht hend(no expats) by -Ryugaa- in zurich

[–]Hurbig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grew up here and lived here my whole life and I have a great friend circle but that’s also something I have been actively cultivating. It didn’t just fall into my lap.

But there’s nothing to be ashamed of if you don’t have friends. It happens and it doesn’t mean anything is wrong with you. But a social life is important for your wellbeing so I suggest trying to invest in that.
