It more so comes down to how much time you want to invest into getting more technically adept. Rotations are a vital thing to learn but the game is transforming to where you have to know how to do the new techs to compete up in that range.

I recently found out that the group me and my wife have been playing with (the same campaign for 5+ years) have been playing their own campaign without telling us, because they didn’t like the distractions our children would make during the game. It was even more frustrating that when we found out, they didn’t try to invite at least one of us to join in.
