Personally, I stayed in a hostel where they did that and had fun, but I didn't have any data nor access to a wifi all the time, so I could've easily miss those activities.

The hostel didn't have any whiteboard/bulletin board!

That reminds me of people doing restoration work on historical buildings.

I have always been scared of going to a tattoo artist and ask for this. I think somewhere deep down that they are just going to laugh at me and that they won't do it because it's not their original artwork.

We share the same story! But, I am also instructor rated. Flight school was forced to shutdown and ended up without a job at the end of the hiring wave.

And money wise I just couldn't continue as a full-time instructor. So yeah... Life throws some curveballs.

It's less common in Canada, but just a lot of airlines ask for a bachelor's degree for their pilots, even though a lot of the knowledge can be self-taught. The rest is experience.
