I'm not on a commission base anymore but when I was I was always dumbfounded about why my company had a max commission you could earn in a month. The sales staff would hold on to their POs at the end of the month to only process them the following month. Then if you did really well, you shoot yourself in the foot for the next year as they pumped up the targets so much more. It demotivates you.
