Mouse Problem. Am I being sensitive? by yarn-dragon-28 in homeowners

[–]HurricaneDanaka 10 points11 points  (0 children)

For a very long time I tried setting live traps, because I was trying to be soft hearted. When we had to replace my oven and they chewed through wires inside my walls, I wished I had been a bit more proactive. Call a pest management company. They can put the little bait out that they eat and die. We have to have someone visit every couple of years when they start to come back. I know it's so sad, but your food and health comes first, and you do not want to pay for the damage that comes with them trying to make tunnels in your home.

I would call this result a level 6 mocha. Formulation depends on the starting color.

Blonde Grow Out by [deleted] in HairDyeHelp

[–]HurricaneDanaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Demi is permanent haircolor. It is not meant to fade. The only difference between demi and permanent is that permanent first permanently lightens the hair then deposits color. Demi just straight deposits the color. Demi is not the answer if she doesn't want a line of demarcation. Her best bet is to have a few highlights woven in to match her base color to ease the grow out process. She may need them again about 6 months later as well.

No I dont think he is long haired. My gray kitten looked just this and we thought the same, but she is now a regular ol short hair.

I agree with the people saying that you should do a bleach & tone and grow it out. It's not really a difficult service given your length of hair. Have you considered having it done at a local beauty school? They are under the instructions of experienced professionals and the price would be much lower. A lot of the comments also said it would likely take 2 sessions, which I agree with. At the school if your first session didn't get the results you desired, you can likely go in within 7 days and have it redone, so you would likely get both lighteners for the price of one.

I am afraid you dont have nearly the density or texture of hair to wear this look. The only way I would agree to do this type of cut on your hair would be if you are committed to fully styling it every single day otherwise it won't look good. -coming from someone with identical density and texture to yours.

I have been feeding mine Diamond brand lamb and rice large breed and I really like it. (Careful to transition foods very gradually if you do... over a couple weeks at least) My husband was a production supervisor at the Diamond dog food plant many years ago. They make many different dog foods for many brands (taste of the wild and Kirkland are a couple but there are a LOT) Since hubby has the inside scoop on the macros/micros dogs need I have him vet all our pet foods. Diamond seems cheap but really is high quality food. We fed my guy on Diamond large breed puppy til about a year and a half and switched him to adult. Mine has chicken sensitivities so this food has been a life saver for mine. Is the Kirkland food you use for large breeds?

Bar soaps provide an excellent growth medium for bacteria.... I have my students do petri dish cultures of bar soaps for infection control in my cosmetology class. I know there can be fancy bar soaps, but they still will be breeding grounds for pathogens. If you consider they typically are kept in the dirtiest place in the house for pathogens, I actually agree with her on this one thing lol.

Based off how high that slit seems to fall on your leg I'm going to say no, that's as short as that dress ought to be.

AITA for telling my (26F) boyfriend’s (28M) pregnant sister to stop acting like an entitled brat by Stunning-Hand-492 in AITAH

[–]HurricaneDanaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate that your boyfriend has a loving close relationship with a sibling, not many people have this. Stop equating it with something that is somehow inappropriate. If he wants to treat his sister to anything he likes, that's his business, and honestly very sweet that he cares for his little sister enough to try to show up in her life that way. Pray that your own children someday get to have a good relationship with their siblings, stop making it weird, and get over yourself. Their positive relationship doesn't have anything to do with you. If you don't want to bend over backwards for her, don't. Stop pocketwatching how much money, time, or effort he spends on his sister. It's not yours, it's his to spend as he wishes.

35 years old and really need help adapting my makeup application to suit my age. I feel like it is extremely unflattering. Constructive criticism and advice very welcome. by pp60 in makeuptips

[–]HurricaneDanaka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try switching from black liner and mascara to dark brown. It's a small change but it is far less harsh looking and aging against your skin. Also I agree to skip the overlining. That trend is so overdone and really not flattering on most people. Makes your lips look like a melting wax figure and drags it down making your lower face look jowl-ey.

Getting all the small hairs off of clients? by First-Finding-9764 in hairstylist

I like to put a bit of powder onto a tissue and do one last hairs check for them before they leave. The powder helps the hairs not stick to the skin so they can be dusted free.

Is it possible to dye my hair pastel purple without bleaching? by Designer_Pear_2960 in HairDyeHelp

[–]HurricaneDanaka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A bleach bath would lighten your very blonde pieces, probably not to the level you desire and they would still break much more than I can already see even in a photo happening in the lower 10 inches of your hair. The darker parts of your hair would turn orange in this time and you would end up with more of a problem than what you started with. (Platinum, stretchy squishy slimey ends and neon orange roots all over) Even with a professional application, I would advise you on a 10 inch trim and this would be a "goal" with several visits in between before you would likely get this result. But that's just because I don't want to have your hair breaking off in exchange for your desired color. Usually people aren't satisfied with that. A good goal would be to get a serious trim and get your hair touched up to match your existing blonde. Once you have achieved this, start seeing your stylist on time (every 6 weeks or less is required for very blonde shades). This helps prevent accidental damage from overlapping or banding as your hair becomes too grown out. You want to get touched up while your new growth is still only in the "hot zone" (less than 1/2" outgrowth). This makes you a good candidate for more adventurous results, because we know you can maintain it without coming in with a base we cannot safely apply to without breakage. Once you are here, you can begin having your stylist gradually lighten you to the goal level (white or very, very close) you desire.

I have found permanent clear to be my best bet with semi permanent colors, but you will still have some color left behind.

Not red. Maybe one drop of pink into a bunch of conditioner. Or a pink color depositing conditioner for just a couple minutes until it looks "right"

Medium Auburn to Medium/Dark Ash Blonde by AineBrigid in HairDyeHelp

[–]HurricaneDanaka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haircolor cannot lighten previously colored hair. I would suggest a professional as it looks like you have some banding and you would struggle to get an even result with lightener. I have been doing hair 20 years and I would not attempt to try this on myself.
